I wouldn't pay more then $400.00 for a commercial MAK Russian or otherwise, and for that it needs to be like new in box.

    Thanks for the input.

I saw one in a LGS, and if I remember correctly, I think it was priced at $325.00 in VG to Excellent condition.

$325 seems about right in Excellent condition (and maybe 1 extra mag). You can find them for less but your not getting ripped off either.

The commercial Maks with the adjustable sites are at the bottom collecibility wise. They are still quality pistols and will run all of the time but the adjustable sites are kind of cheap.

I would try and find a Bulgarian Mak for that price. They are out there.

I do not own a Mak, and I've only started to research them. Thanks.

Go ahead and get it if you want a good, reliable carry piece. It's not a collectable but at 7 yards it will hold the 10 ring all day long and go bang every time.

    Good to know. Thanks much.

That's really what this purchase would be about (carry piece, not a collectible).

    Thanks.

Then you may not want that big rectangular rear sight on the IJ-70; it tends to catch on things.
