Cool GLOCK VS S&W SD VE !

I know this will get the hackles up and not my intention just our observations ! At the range in N Y Glock 19 VS the S&W SD 9VE accuracy was exactly the same at 15 yards althought the S&W was easily better on the hand for pointing on target.I have been a Glock fan for over 20 years and wont give them up both on dead on center of target ! I would recommend the S&W over a Glock ONLY if Finacially better for the buyer ! Given the great deals right now also makes for a great first gun purchase ! JMO/MDT

Not surprising that any good gun with a competent shooter should be able to do the job. I would suspect ammo variation is more important, in the overall scheme of things. Hand feel and 'pointing' are subjective and vary from person to person and gun to gun. A small degree of grip angle change or even texture can make all the difference. Cost is only one factor and is often not defining as you have noted.

I own a G19 and an SDve. The SD is a great choice for a budget all around pistol but if I had to choose one of them for defense it would be the Glock hands down. Accuracy is a wash and depends on the shooter but I think the Glock has a bit better quality in it.
I bought the SDve for a home defense gun so it won't see most of the rigors that a carry gun sees, I think the SD is more than enough for home defense role.

Pretty much what ray h said, I have a SD9VE and a G17 for HD guns, pretty comparable at HD ranges, but I'd take the Glock over the S&W if push came to shove.

I have a couple VEs and the triggers suck, even compared to the glocks.

Been having this exact debate recently at work, coworker is hot for the S&W. My big concern is that the S&W will be obsolete way before the Glock would be. I ran into that with the Ruger P95's, great gun but far less support from the aftermarket.
