    Thumbs up Good customer service!

It is a small thing, but a thing nonetheless, and an important one. I managed to lose the retention screw and grommet for my DeSantis Speed Scabbard holster. I called DeSantis this morning to see about obtaining a replacement, and they are sending me one for free. Screws do not cost much, but they and postage cost something. It was a nice surprise and I would like to say so publicly. We often complain about the bad and forget to mention the good.

    very nice.

I once contacted Dan Wesson. I needed a barrel wrench. They asked for my address. Then said thank you its on its way. No Charge.

This was before CZ took them over.

Always a pleasant surprise... many times even the tiniest part (from any manufacturer) will be one of those $7.95 + 6.95 postage items.

    Cool beans.

A few years ago, I bought a Blade Tech IWB holster. The length of the belt loops had to be trimmed to fit the width of the belt. The instructions were less than ideal and I srewed up and trimmed one of the belt loops a little short. I called Blade Tech, admitted my error and asked for a replacement. They wanted $9.00 for the 4-5 inch soft plastic strip. I decided to recycle a beat up belt loop from an old holster.

I've bought at least 10 holsters since then and none were Blade Techs. Glad to hear there are some holster makers with good customer service.

Glad to hear it! It is always nice when you get good customer service. It is so hard to find these days. Just isn't what it used to be.

I had a similar experience with Pachmayr. I bought the American Legend Grips for my PT1911. One of the medallions fell off so I contacted Pachmayr and asked about purchasing replacements. The original design was a two piece design with the medallion glued on. A lot of people had problems with the glue not holding up. Pachmayr redesigned the medallions and made them a one piece design. They sent me two of the new medallions at no charge.

Nice when that happens isn't it?

A few months ago the screw that holds the shell ejector housing on my Ruger super Blackhawk broke (my son was shooting it at the time) ... I managed to get the broken threads out of the barrel and called Ruger, told them I wanted to order a few of them. She took the serial number of the gun and came back on the line and said "they will be shipping one out to me at no charge" ... sure enough a few days later it was there. Definitely put a smile on my face.

Similar experience with Ruger. I lost the front bead on my Engraved Red Label. One phone call and I had a new one in a couple of days; no charge.
