Going to local firearms safety and rights seminar tomorrow..
Going to local firearms safety and rights seminar tomorrow. Participants will include local state representative, DA and sheriff.
Gimme a hot question to ask, concerning the topic please. Have a couple ideas but looking for more.
Thanks. It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

The Allegheny county sheriff's department held a similar seminar a few years ago and I went.
I just wanted to see what types of info they were dishing out.
I was pleasantly surprised that they mostly stuck to facts as opposed to presenting "opinion" as the law.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

I don't have any suggestions, just keep them honest if they make any mistakes. At the Allegheny County seminar, they didn't know that the PA Castle Doctrine extended to your car, and they had a handout showing reciprocity with Ohio and NY (that was before Ohio accepted PA LTCF).
Every sheriff's nightmare - four loud-mouthed PAFOA fact-checkers in attendance. They actually did a pretty good job; I'll bet some of those seminars around the state have been lots worse.

If they want to use a gun loaded with blanks with student volunteers, I'd leave.

all you get is ridicule, laughter,

Ask their position on and what they intend to do to allow CCW on school grounds under the "other lawful purpose" clause.

Re: Going to local firearms safety and rights seminar tomorrow..
I give them credit for taking the time doing it but found the information presented was as basic as it could be. Would consider it a primer for a newbie.
No blatant disinformation given but a few questions answered by you need to check into that. An example was carry in the sate park a few miles away. Someone pulled it up on their smartphone and answered it.
Open carry was recognized but discouraged for the fact you may be making yourself the first target.
No one was aware of any firearms confiscation out east during traffic stops.
If I was to do it again I'd print out a few PAFOA flyers to take with me: http://forum.pafoa.org/showthread.php?t=7481
Since I'm due to renew my license I'm going to drop one off for the Sheriff. It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.
