Re: Once-Booming Gun Industry Now Recalibrating
The USA is now a banana republic. Only without the bananas....or the Republic.

Re: Once-Booming Gun Industry Now Recalibrating
Count me in as stupid. Maybe not "realllllly" stupid, but definitely "duh!"... I paid too much for my first AR pre-election when we all thought Hildebeast was gonna win. Wouldn't touch it for the price today...
As to the 2nd part of your statement... maybe/maybe not. I'm still 'in the market'. Have bought more since, and would love to get a mini-14 at a good price. Haven't found one yet. But I agree that "get it now while you can" dynamic has faded.DGAF

Re: Once-Booming Gun Industry Now Recalibrating
It's not a sales problem, it's an inventory problem. The gun manufacturers ran up inventory in anticipation of Queen Hillary. Now they're laying people off and selling AR's below cost to get their inventories back in balance. That's all.
In a way, Hillary is helping shooters with limited funds to buy their first "assault rifle". Way to go, Hillary!

Re: Once-Booming Gun Industry Now Recalibrating
My son and I visited a few gun shops today. Ammo prices, especially for .22LR are still stupid. We only eyeballed and fondled a few guns.

Re: Once-Booming Gun Industry Now Recalibrating
I am to lazy to read the " because and the why's!!"
I'm pretty confident that the industry, all be it has ups and downs, will some how survive.
I'm so sure, that I'm not going to buy an AR for like a week or two...
And watch prices tumble....

Re: Once-Booming Gun Industry Now Recalibrating
Oh there's no doubt the modern gun industry is going to stay strong and is here to stay. The People have gotten a taste for it, partially because it was get it now or (possibly) lose it forever, and now that they have the Genie has left the lamp for good. There's going to be some short term turmoil as the massive procurement of the past couple years is curtailed some what, but I expect it to stabilize to a solid, continuous purchasing cycle now. Gun stocks won't surge and explode any longer, but the companies overall will remain healthy and profitable, assuming they don't do something Ruger level stupid.
Now, will we see blips? Certainly. The next SHES event will cause a panic, but the degree of it will be determined by what the legislators, and specifically PRESIDENT TRUMP, attempt to pass.
