Re: Top 3 worst gun states---and #1 is????
I'm a former nj resident who had to go through the double background check crap they make you do. It was just another way to make people wait for 3 months before getting any firearm. The day I got my full pa drivers license I submitted my paperwork for ltcf and bought a sig p320 just to celebrate my escape from hell

Re: Top 3 worst gun states---and #1 is????
Don't forget there are states where a carry permit exempts some folks from NICs so that may change a few positions, but not for the anti states at the bottom.
From the BATFE: Are there transfers that are exempt from the NICS background check requirement?
Firearm transfers are exempt from the requirement for a NICS background check in three situations. These include transfers: (1) to transferees having a State permit that has been recognized by ATF as an alternative to a NICS check; (2) of National Firearms Act weapons to persons approved by ATF; and (3) certified by ATF as exempt because compliance with the NICS background check requirement is impracticable.

Re: Top 3 worst gun states---and #1 is????
Kentucky is skewed as they do a NICS check monthly on every concealed carry license.
Utah has a huge number of non resident carry licenses
Wyoming,Montana and Alaska? They just have a lot of gun nuts.Last edited by clarencecoffee; April 9th, 2017 at 08:55 PM.

Re: Top 3 worst gun states---and #1 is????
Ohio allows FTF handgun sales with no paperwork as do many other places.
PA forces paperwork on handgun sales between individuals.
with today's mobile population and different NICS rules in different places, it's like comparing apples and orangutans.American by BIRTH, Infidel by CHOICE

Re: Top 3 worst gun states---and #1 is????
NJ, Hawaii, and MD are worst for carry, in decreasing order.
Normal people do carry in New York depending on where they live. It is possible in MD depending on profession. But most can't. NJ and HI are right out. MD has weird AWB laws like NY, perhaps not as bad, not sure. But most MD residents can never get a carry permit, and that puts them in the bottom 3 IMO.

And when subjects from New Jersey or Maryland cross the frontier and see citizens of Pennsylvania open carrying? That must eat at their innards, or make them leave a puddle.

Re: Top 3 worst gun states---and #1 is????
One time I and my then GF's boss nearly made a couple LEO's from NJ leave a puddle..
About 12 years ago there was a restaurant called Maxwell Street near the mall in DuBois that I ate at nearly every day due to a GF working there. ...well I was already at the counter to order when a couple LEO's from NJ came walking in. ..they hadn't seen my OC'd 1911 until I moved up to bullshit over the counter with the GF and her boss. At that moment I saw my GF's boss's eyes open up wide towards the LEO's. ....they had apparently went to DEFCON 2 after noticing my gun - hands on guns in holsters and taking a Weaver stance. I then eased my head towards them, saw what was going on, saw their uniforms/badges, and said "Easy guys, you aren't in Jersey anymore." Then my GF's boss reached down and pulled up an AK(BTW - he was still in Army National Guard between tours). They nearly shit themselves..
The boss chilled them out though with some smooth talking and jokes. Those two officers finally eased up and realized their situation. They ended up sitting adjacent to me and we struck up conversation. They weren't used to seeing normal folks OC, but they really weren't against it either. They were being sent to I think Ohio or Indiana to pick up an extradition.Last edited by knight0334; April 12th, 2017 at 04:48 PM.
