Your last sentence is exactly what i told the op.

I have only been reloading since 1974. I am still learning. I have learned a few lessons along the way. One of those lessons is do not trust strangers about load data. Plenty of newbs like yourself out there that think they know everything.
And the Glock thread is mostly phony baloney and people jumped the gun passing out all sorts of fear based hysteria about reloading in that thread before the real story was found out.

Yes, you can make it dangerous, but as I said by being knowledgeable, checking your work and your math you should have no major problem. If you do that, then I believe your risk is lower than shooting factory ammunition.

No I do not believe I know everything and have made that pretty clear over the years and there is always more to learn, which of course is what forums are all about, exchanging opinions and knowledge.

I know my grand dad reloaded for forty years or so, I wished that I could learn from him, but he passed four years ago. my brother in law reloads, but as he works two jobs now, he has very little time. I do have a friend that reloads, I will have to get a hold of him next time he is home, he works for the gas well company and is in texas now.

I will start watching some videos and reading everthing I can find. I went on the online libarary and they have a lot, they have a hornady, and a lyman reloading manual that I can download for free.

as for being a cheap gun, not all of us can afford the big fancy stuff, I do what I can with what I have.
