    Default Glock 34 sight advice

I have a Gen 4 Glock 34 with stock sights which I'd like to upgrade. My question is, does anyone know of any sights that would serve me well for competition as well as duty (law enforcement) use? I've had Trijicon HDs on a Glock 19 but wasn't a fan of them. Thanks!

I prefer a plain black rear with a really bright front sight. I have some pistols with fiber optic front sights and they work for me but my favorites are the hackathorn glock sights. The front sight really draws my attention and they also a ledge on the rear for one handed manipulation. I think they're usually in the $60 range.

Does your department actually let you pick out and replace your own sights? If so you will get some good responses but what's best for one guy isn't always best for another.

This is a personal gun. However, for plainclothes we can carry whatever we want to. Guys on our SWAT Team also qualify with personally owned weapons.

This for the replies. I've seen Dawson precision sights before, just didn't realize they'd hold up well enough for duty use.

I'm rougher at matches than I am carrying anything. When you say duty use where do you see the stress points being? Where would a sight fail that wouldn't at a match?

I'm a big fan of heinie straight eights or warren sevigny sights. i find those types of sights to be the quickes and easiest for me to line up. they are both all metal sights and i doubt they will break easily.

I shoot the Warren Sevigny sights on my Glock 17. Fiber optic front with black rear sights. I've shot the same set of sights for about 8 yrs in competitions and they have held up really well. Mine the gap on either side of the front sight is about as big as the front sight. They allow a lot of light and are really quick up close.

I'm a huge fan of TruGlo TFX pro's (Tritium and Fiber optic) so much so that they are now on all my pistols regardless if they are for HD, SD, or competition.

I have a write up and some pictures in the below link, see post number 38 and 41 if your interested.
