Re: Anyone into WWII weapons?
Looks like a re-weld judging by the small spots of porosity in the 3rd pick and their location as well.
Same with the blueing discoloration in the 5th pic, along with the small notches in the charging handle raceway.
So i would say Historic Arms re-built this gun.
Inglis more than likely made it the first time.
Clean job if it is. Nice collector piece.
Good luck with the sale.
I'd be curious to see the inside with the bolt and lower removed.HGW, llc ~ Title 1 & NFA sales/manufacturing ~ Transfers - Title 1 $20 - NFA $50

Re: Anyone into WWII weapons?
It is a rebuild by Historic, sorry, I did not mean to convey that Historic was the original builder.
I will see what I can do about pics with the bolt and lower removed.Last edited by Xringshooter; March 31st, 2017 at 12:56 PM.

Re: Anyone into WWII weapons?
If it is a re-weld it is a damn fine job. I agree that without seeing the inside one cannot know for sure.
Compare with this one which is an obvious re-weld: http://www.sturmgewehr.com/forums/in...bren-gun-mkii/
But still a well done one.Last edited by gghbi; March 30th, 2017 at 04:00 PM.

^^^ Perfect example of a fantastic reweld and how different types of filler rod or mig wire react to hot blueing.
