Dead criminal’s family complains victim’s AR-15 made the fight unfair

In case you haven’t already heard, a 23-year-old man from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma made headlines this week when he shot and killed three teenage home invaders.

The three teens had robbed the garage earlier that day, then returned to try the main house.

They awoke Zach Peters, the homeowner’s son, who grabbed his AR-15 and defended himself against 3 armed and masked intruders.

Max Cook, 19; Jacob Redfearn, 17; and Jake Woodruff, 16, were shot and killed. Cook’s 21-year-old girlfriend, get-away driver, and “robbery mastermind”

Elizabeth Rodriguez was arrested and charged with three counts of both first degree murder and burglary. Her murder charges come from the felony murder rule which charges anyone involved in a felony with murder if a death occurs during or due to the felonious act.

Now the family of one of the deceased criminals is complaining.

They don’t believe it was fair that Peters was allowed to defend himself with an AR-15 when the criminals were only armed with knives and brass knuckles.

Leroy Schumacher, grandfather of Jacob Redfearn, says his grandson made a bad choice but didn’t deserve to die.

“What these three boys did was stupid,” said Leroy Schumacher to ABC News. “They knew they could be punished for it but they did not deserve to die.”

Schumacher complains that it wasn’t a fair fight and his grandson didn’t have a chance to defend himself… while breaking into another man’s home and attempting to rob him.

“Brass knuckles against an AR-15, come on, who was afraid for their life,” he continued.

Zach Peters has not, and will not be charged with a crime for a justified shooting of three armed intruders and Schumacher is furious.

“There’s got to be a limit to that law, I mean he shot all three of them; there was no need for that,” said Schumacher.

The only place you are guaranteed a fair fight is in a ring with 3 judges. Fair fight cease to exist when your life is at stake or when you decide to live outside the law in the criminal world.

....anyhow let's rerail the derail here;Shumacher sounds like a butthurt idiot talking about a fair fight.Fair fighting goes out the window when your home is intruded by multiple masked men who have weapons.It's kind of a shame that his grandson won the ultimate stupid games prize but perhaps he himself should shoulder some of the blame for it due to not taking more of a role in raising and guiding the young man.

I wonder if the victim had been a female and the outcome were the same would this even be a conversation? Would women in the bias media even try to marginaliz the life of another woman by questioning the tool she previously and wisely chose to defend herself with from three masked armed intruders?

I've had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing someone get hit, one hit to be exact from someone using brass knuckles and it was devistating. The recipent while a complete shit head who deserved an old fashioned beat down didn't deserve the month stay in the hospital and the complications that came with it and he was lucky that he didnt end up a vegetable.

Crime is not a sport. In sports, things are supposed to be fair; except in hunting, where the deer never shoot back and only one of the players is likely to die.

In crime, the bad guys choose the time and the place, they get to prepare ahead of time, they get to choose their own numbers and accomplices. The victims are always "come as you are", which is why you may be excused for defending yourself with a grenade launcher, if that's all that was handy when the lethal threat crawled in your window.

If crime were a sport, there'd be a league of professional criminals, and there isn't, except for the DNC.
