I worked for the railroad for a number of years, and ended getting terminated for health problems due to an accident, I had a lot of money saved that I ended up using for my dads medical bills, his cancer took him in 2004. I have been on disability since just after he died. I worked all summer helping a guy with firewood for my 7mm-08 that I wanted for deer hunting.

now my lungs are so bad from the lead that deer hunting is out of the question, so I traded the rifle for my pistol. the only other pistols I have owned was an old shot out 38, don't even remember the brand, and a HI-POINT 45, so this is the first one of higher quality. I do not for see me getting another any time soon. I am saving a little here and there I want to get my wife a S&W M&P22. a friend let me borrow his for a while and she was getting realy good with it, but he moved away and did not want to part with it.

we both just want to be able to go the range together and shoot and have a good time together. I know that may sound corny to some, but we had a lot of fun shooting together, but she just can't handle the nine.

The equipment elitists are everywhere in every conceivable work field, hobby or sport. When I used to fly fish all the time, my South Bend automatic reel on a Shakespeare 8' rod was all I ever used. I had better reels and rod combos including graphite's but I fished better with the old setup my uncle gave me as a teenager. I heard it from other fishermen on the streams all the time. The elitist fly fishermen now always look down on me since I have predominantly used red fins for trout all the time. (I guess it isn't sporting to use anything but a fly). Look at the vehicle you drive! Someone has a bigger better one and will diss yours. Guns, shoes, outdoor equipment. (Ski equipment when I had a back that bent better than what I have left now). Tools, guns, you name it! Advertising has done this to a lot of people. Remember if you buy our product, you'll get laid more and be handsome and cool.
I try to buy the best I can afford. You save to get what you want. Some people settle for less. Others require the best. What ever you have and use, at least your out there using it and most people are pretty good with what they feel best using and practice with.
Engineers make things idiot proof! Evolution makes better idiots!

Sure are. Some people think that if your motorcycle has a lot of plastic on it, it must be a moped (:

    It's really just a teeny-tiny Gold Wing.

I used to drive autocross, and nobody was snobby about equipment there. There was everything from crappy stock Rabbits & Golfs to expensive sports cars. There are a number of different classes, where the cars are separated by performance and by the types of allowable modifications. I had an Integra with racing slicks and upgraded intake/exhaust & suspension. I didn't have to compete with Corvettes, BMW M3's, or guys who dropped big engines and superchargers into Civics. So nobody turned their noses up at lesser cars, because they all competed in their own classes.

Aside from that, we loved to see someone show up in a completely un-raceworthy car. If somebody wanted to race a Cadillac, an F150, or some random beater, we encouraged them, laughed, and cheered them on. It ought to be the same with guns.
