Not exactly the outcome most had been hoping for, but at least it is a step in the right direction. Given time, I think we will see semis approved for big game.

This probably wouldn't have been an issue had they introduced it this way from the beginning, it is what I would have expected. But no, they said they were going to allow semis for all game. Game Commission blew it again in my opinion.

The way they have it now is what I expected from the beginning as well, but you are right, if they wouldn't have come out unanimously in favor of allowing them for all seasons in January, this wouldn't have been such a kick to the nuts.

I too am among the many that are disappointed. The survey does indeed sound suspect. But the highlights from today's meeting suggests that they are willing to reconsider (probably for future seasons) if the overall opinion of hunters changes. So let's force their hand a bit. I'm drafting an email to the PAGC currently and will be printing it and snail mailing it as well. Head over to their website and let them know you want it approved for big game as well.

Topics for my letters include things others have posted previously.
-it seems a bit ridiculous that roughly 1200 people will decide the fate of nearly 1 million hunters.
    - Also, act 168 passed through legislation that isn't always friendly to the gun culture here in PA, by a margin that prevented a veto, no less.
-Also, semi autos are just plain cool and by their own admission in their highlights of today's meeting, younger hunters widely support semis, which is where the future of PAs conservation efforts will be maintained, the younger generation of hunters. Shouldn't we adopt policies that promote the next generation of hunters?

Does this include centerfire .223/5.56 for coyote?

Any word on magazine capacity limits for small game and furbearers?

They are furbearers, so it appears so. (God, I screw up so much of late, I'm almost afraid to post answers)

Magazine capacities. Good question. Didn't see any reference to it. Guess we'll find out. Probably blast away all 30 (or 75 drum?) at yotes, but only 3 for deer when it happens in 2022. Make that 2032.

The surveys went out to clubs back in December. Many clubs are lucky to see 10-15% of their members at meetings. The majority of those seem to be older gentlemen who do not have a passion for modern firearms or embrace change overly well.

    Let's be more active.

Correction: It was in August and input was due back in September.
