Default Armstrong Folk Festival Open Carry?

Anyone know if OC is prohibited at the Folk Festival?

I don't know for sure, but if I had to guess being that it is a Folk Festival, you're probably going to be dealing with the crusty flower child type. If I had to bet, merely saying the word gun will be enough to make some of these people shit their pants.

Not my personal experience but a friend attended concealed carry, his shirt blew open revealing his firearm and the crowd opened up like Moses did on the waters. He said no other issue not even a call to firearm security police !

It gets pretty crowded walking up and down that sidewalk. You are going to have a lot of people bumping into you, with or without a pistol in the open. I wouldn't give something all the heroin addicts of Kittanning to grab onto. That's just me though.... your opinion may vary

Most likely true. I OC in the area quite a bit over the past couple of years, and until the other day (http://forum.pafoa.org/showthread.php?t=320738&page=10) never heard a peep. Guess we'll find out. Thanks for your response.

Thanks MDT. I dig the idea of parting the waters.

Thanks danhr. I'll have it in a retention holster that's pretty solid, and always carry pepper spray accessible by weak side hand. Last time I was at the festival I think was in the 80's and it was crowded then. Can't imagine now.

Seeing as how the festival is being held in Riverfront Park, any carry cannot be prohibited, OC or CC. OCed at Groundhog Fest in Punxsutawney. Nobody said nothing.

Was that the one in early July? I OC'd there too. Same result as with you.

Good food and friendly staff at Punxsutawney Phil's restaurant, too. And Mahoning Valley Milling is right up the street for gun or ammo purchases.
