Those are bad instructions. How are you going to speak with your lawyer if you have not called him??

I wouldn't say anything on 911 other than "ambulance needed at address ----" and then I would hang up.
Then I would call my lawyer.

During WWII, soldiers were not killing the enemy in numbers the spent ammo would suggest. Turns-out, they were intentionally missing. Among other things like de-humanizing the enemy, they changed target practice targets from bulls eyes to human silhouettes to get the GIs used to sighting humans. Apparently, these measures were effective.

What makes you think you'll be the one who dials 911?

The issue I have with the thread is any answer must be accepted at their word, so it's of little use. I'd hope most have thought long and hard about this already.
As for me I have a great amount of empathy for people, animals, living things. At the same time I have complete indifference of anyone or thing that is wanting to do me or others harm. Intentionally snapping an arm or gripping a windpipe hasn't fazed me nor would taking their last breath and heartbeat. I have no sympathy or empathy for people that inflict violence.
Or am I just talking the talk?

I was addressing the card in the post I responded to which makes it fairly clear the caller is the shooter.

Ideally, I would not call 911 at all. My preference would be someone else call them. I would only call if there were no witnesses to do so, or if the only witness were my assailant (or their dog, etc.).

    Officers don't answer 911.

I don't care who answers. It's recorded and anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.

Probably not. But that's not written in stone.
