I personally think this is BS, but I can see sorta their point. IMHO a single action gun is uselsss w/o being cocked..whether it is a Colt SA or a M1911 clone..makes no difference to me. I do think there's times where you may need to cock yer revolver b4 shooting..like if a thug is across a decent saize room, etc, but since most encounters occur at 10' or less, I guess it's moot.
I think it's important to practice with yer gun like you will carry it... DA or SA.
How would anyone know if your revolver was cocked? Am I am correct that there is no decocker on a 1911 clone?

    All 1911s have a decocker.

I never got the whole decocker thing. Sounds like a sex change doctor to me. I mean I understand it in theory and application, I just never liked them at all.

I guess I'm just very non-European in my thinking, in spite of my Mediterranean heritage.

I do see the wisdom of siesta time the older I get, but that's about it.

I like having a double action pull for the first shot on my Ruger p-89. If I need a second shot I like that it comes easier because at that point the fight has begun.

I like that on my CZ's and other DA/SA's too. No decocker required.

You shoot and drag him back in the house. Least ways that's what Momma said.

I've kinda rethought this home defense pistol topic.
Home defense is he is in my house and needs shooting PDQ at close range.
Nothing will beat an Army issue Model 1909 with heavy soft lead hollow pointed full flat nosed wadcutters.
