    I sometimes carry a 38 special derringer. That is single action like the naa 22 revolvers I also carry. Mine won't stand in for a war hammer like yours will. If your comfortable with it is what counts. Like the other post, the trigger pull is light or are you planning on fanning?

    Not to derail the thread, but the weapon you choose for home defense should be based on the role it is to fill.

    Depending on what you need a firearm to do, then plan your choice accordingly.

    Exactly, if the time comes when I seriously feel I need an AR with multiple mags to defend my family inside our home then that's what I'll stage. In the meantime I personally feel that a six shot revolver is plenty enough to do the job.

    Well done. You have all the tools you need for various threat levels, and you've selected the appropriate one for the probables regarding you're current situational assessment.
