American guns
Does anybody watch this insanity?
Guy walks in with his grandfathers 870, wants it turned into the ultimate in home security guns. $1700 dollars? Gee sir how about just buying a brand new shotgun and save yourself $1000? A bonus would be keeping your grandfathers gun the way it was when he had it. I guess that wouldn't be good TV. Click.

Re: American guns
Yeah I'm watching it right now and driving my wife nuts by bitching about the idiot who's destroying his grandpa's 870 for the low low price of $1,700. At least he got a good deal on his used .300.

Re: American guns
Yeah, i just saw the end of that show, and the guy looked like he was gonna crap himself when he saw how "cool" the gun was. I wouldnt value that whole setup more then 500, let alone 1700 dollars

Re: American guns
That was one of those FacePalm moments if I have ever seen one. I would never modify what appeared to be a nice older 870, especially on that was given to me from a parent/grandparent. $1300? Can you say overpriced?
edit: I completely forgot the guy also traded a nice 300 win mag.

Re: American guns
I dont mind the show at all. At least it, for the most part, brings guns to public attention in a positive way. Having said that i was at Gunsmoke 3 weeks ago and i gotta say Rich is a super nice guy. I'm glad his show has taken off and he is able to make a great living doing something he loves.

Re: American guns
i catch it every now and again, the prices these people come up with make my head want to explode, i also want to throw my tv out the friggin window when i see that lazy fat guy with the attitude of god sitting down to run a manual lathe, the lack of safety in that practice drives me nuts, how the hell are you gonna react to shit getting squirrelly in there with your face directly in the path of a spinning chunk of steel and no chance of getting the hell out of its way. guys a fucking idiot.

Re: American guns
i almost sharted when i heard him say $1700.. im looking into an 870 "tactical" for home defense and you can get one for like $300 brand spankin new.. I do like the show because he actually makes realistic guns for now.. hopefully it doesnt turn into "sons of guns" aka the only show about guns that makes me want to smash my head off the wall fire a 45 next to my ear and gouge my eyes out.. but i would have to agree that "tactical" upgrade was a bit over priced

Re: American guns
I quickly gave up on that series, for the same reason that I would stop listening to some "former Army SEAL who earned his MOH using the M-249 in the Mekong Desert".
