This whole exercise reminds me of an old Navy fable.

A new seaman was going through the usual questioning by several chiefs to get qualified to stand watch in port. One chief asked, "What would you do if you saw a Russian frigate sail into the harbor?"

"I'd shoot it with an atomic cannon", said the seaman.

"Where would you get an atomic cannon?", asked the chief.

"Same place you got your Russian frigate, Chief."

I think it's good to come up with scenarios and play them out in your mind. The problems start when other people join in and are imagining something different.
