This is why injecting yourself into the confusion may turn out to send you to jail of get you killed. I am armed to protect myself and my family. Anyone else would be after having much more knowledge about what is going on. If my EDC was an AR/AK then maybe I would be able to determine threats better and reach out. I am not doing a mag dump with my 45 in the general direction of someone with a gun let alone drawing mine unless I or my family is threatened. That's a good way to get killed by off duty police, other good guys and assorted movie commandos. I survived over three decades in uniform with friendlies doing their best to shoot me or blow me up and that was "PEACE TIME ARMY" in training. I do my best to be aware of my surroundings 99% of the time bu I am not looking to shoot anyone for shits and giggles, I got that out of my system long ago.

Sheeple (and some PAFOA members) don't realize that EVERY store/restaurant has a back door for those wishing to leverage option one:

    1) RUN
    2) hide
    3) fight

Yep, those are my chosen options, in order of priority. I have no desire to 'engage' unless forced.

As to OP... For years, I've assumed my 15+1 9mm is enough and didn't carry extra mags. Been rethinking that one lately...

I hope if you or your family ever need help, someone who is able to end the threat and is in close proximity to you/them, does not have the same MO as you. God forbid there would ever be an incident, but if there were hypothetically, I'd hope you would appreciate it.

Having the skill, and the intestinal fortitude to stop a threat is not an attempt to fix all of the social problems as you said, only one; and the only one that matters in that terrible moment.

How many medical folks come across an injury or accident and don't intervene when they are able to help even a little bit? Sadly far too many because they are in fear of being sued by the victim or the next of kin. There are many more who WILL do something though out of the basic love for their fellow man. It is those honorable and brave men and women whom I applaud.

I can't say what I'd do in hypothetical shooter scenario.

Every situation it different, so my response would depend my assessment of WTF was going on.

15+1, two spare mags and one in my pocket. Maybe it's time to start wearing a shuriken on a chain around my neck

Oh stop it. You're reading something that isn't here. AKA moving the goal posts. No one said they wouldn't defend others, we said we wouldn't rush to a shootout. So did she.

    Neither would you.

They say ignorance is bliss, Justin. It's obvious we don't know each other.
