Looking for a single stage press. Suggestions?

I've used the Lee Precision Breech lock Challenger Press for over 10 years now and it's been fine for me. I've pulled the handle easily over 50,000 times and it still works fine. (keep it clean and lubed) I run a 550 for my 9 and 223 now so it doesn't get used quite as much now but I still use it for small test loads and stuff I don't shoot a lot.

I have a Froster single stage press and it works great. Only two shell holders and the dies slip into a milled slot so you never need to change the dies.

Not at Cabella's but I see decent ones at gunshows in the $40-$50 range.

Doesn't fit your $100 at Cabela's but I been happy with Lyman. Have a total of 3, the oldest I bought in 1979 and it still works just fine.

I use a Dillon SDB for cranking out high volumes of pistol rounds but I want my rifle rounds to be as little more precise so I like a single stage. The Lee hand press is just getting to be a bit hard on my shoulder to work it.

My single stage is a Lee Classic Cast, non breech lock. I size bullets that is why I didn't get the breech lock. The Lee CC has a better priming system and spent priming system than most single stage presses out there, rock chucker included. If money isn't a big concern then get a Forester Co-Ax press.

I was so happy when I sold my RockChucker back in the mid-70s. No longer have to pick up spent primer from the floor.

2) Get a Forster Co-Ax press

You can't buy this one at Cabela's...I use an old Herter's single stage that was what I was instructed on. They will have to take that press from my cold dead fingers, or I will gladly pass it on to my kin when my fingers are crippled and longer work. I am sure ALL of the Lee, RCBS and Hornady presses work better, BUT I have loaded 10's of thousands of rounds on that press and it will work for another 200 years. So the point I'm trying to make is, single stage presses ALL work and they ALL will last beyond your lifetime so buy EXACTLY The one you want and use it until your hands fall off.

Herter's single stage they're made to last bought mine in the mid 50's for about $10.00 and it still works fine; and I am still reloading with this unit.
My sons, daughters, and grand kids have learned to reload on the old anchor. Hope to be around long enough to teach the great, great grandkid on this press
