    Milled AKs are for collecors or if you enjoy carrying a heavier AK. ��

    My converrted Saiga with stamped receiver has nearly 1000 rounds through it and has had zero problems whatsoever. It's pretty accurate too....for an AK.

    The original AK-47 had a milled receiver but only because the Soviets didn't have the capability to mass produce stamped receivers. IOW, the AK was designed to have a stamped receiver "from the git go".

    A milled receiver gun is going to be more durable but I doubt anyone is ever going to shoot a stamped AK to the point of destruction.

    IMO the biggest issue is why carry all that extra weight in a rifle that is intended to be a "carbine"?

    Shot a century folding stock with milled receiver last weekend. Magwell wasn't relieved enough in front of the trigger to allow several different plastic mags to insert. Metal one that came with it worked, but no others. All mags worked in a stamped Romanian ak just fine.
