    We have a winner!!

IIRC, the HS2000 mag was designed around a Beretta 92 mag.
You'd have to cut the proper catch slot, but for a mechanic that likes to tinker, it should be cake.
Also, I believe the Beretta mags are a little bit longer, or have a shorter baseplate (been a few years since I compared them) so popping in mags too hard could damage the ejector. Could build up base plate, or make spacer.

Ive done this with beretta extended mags, it only requires a hole drillde in the front of the mag, if you use the plastic baseplates on standard mags they dont look out of place

that wouldn't be an issue, i'm actually building a franken-ruger at the moment so i don't think that mike'ing a catch hole should be too hard. i just need to find some beretta mags now & a donor 22lr barrel
