It appears you prefer to remain a NJ resident, so I will assume you actually live in NJ and temporarily live in PA. You have two choices. Remain a NJ resident and live by their rules, or become a Pa resident and live with our rules. You can't have it both ways.

    The law.

" If you're living more than 180 days per year in Pennsylvania as opposed to New Jersey, you're a Pennsylvania resident, like it or not."

You don't get to choose. Unless you are active duty military and stationed in PA.

Of course it would be immoral and illegal to keep a car registered and insured out of state.
You mean Rate evasion and if determined any claim may be denied and your insurance may also be cancelled.

    Thanks for any advice.
    No.

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said "Get into a serious vehicle accident and things could definitely go downhill in case anyone starts digging."

Years ago, I believe it was more expensive to insure a vehicle in Philly than it was in NJ, especially certain shore points. Not uncommon, still, to see many cars in Philly with Jersey tags.

To the OP, you're either a resident of PA or you're not.

I have nothing more for this witness.
