2017 C&G Training Defensive Carbine 1 (4/15/17)

Defensive Carbine 1 is a comprehensive 9 hour firearms course provides formal, structured training for the gun owner seeking to learn how to safely operate their carbine during the deployment of defensive tactics.
FIREARMS TRAINING TOPICS:
The following topics with be presented:
Firearms Safety Rules.
Introduction to the AR-15 / M-4 carbine and AK-47.
Weapon conditions.
Sling use and carry techniques.
Presentation of the carbine from Safety Circle to low and high ready positions.
Shooting positions (various standing, kneeling and prone).
Zeroing iron sights and optics.
Explanation of Minute of Angle (MOA)
The C&G shooting methodology.
Basic marksmanship and target analysis.
Combat and tactical reloading.
Transitioning to secondary weapon systems.
Weapon malfunction clearance drills.
Support side shooting drills.
Developing the tactical mindset and honing situational awareness.
TACTICAL MEDICINE:
Upon completion of this segment of the course, the student will understand:
How to identify and treat gunshot wounds.
The progressive strategy for controlling hemorrhage in tactical field care.
How to use blood clotting agents.
The correct application of a hemostatic dressing.
When and how to properly use a tourniquet.
When and how to apply a chest seal.
Please use the C&G Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) for this portion of the course.
Prerequisites:
Introduction to Pistol (or equivalent firearms safety class)
Ammunition Requirements:
500 Rifle rounds
Student Requirements:
It is recommended that the student bring a baseball hat and wear comfortable clothes. Low cut (V-neck) shirts and open toed shoes are prohibited. Eye and ear protection, nylon belt or duty belt with holster, at least two rifle magazine carriers, a semi-automatic pistol with at least 3 hi-capacity magazines or a revolver with at least 3 speed loaders
* Upon advanced request, C&G Arms is pleased to provide course attendees with a semi-automatic carbine, magazines and holster rig for this training class.

Upon completion of the Defensive Carbine 1 course, the student will possess the fundamental skills necessary to participate in:
Defensive Pistol I, Defensive Carbine II, and Precision Rifle.
