That brake is just... wow... ha ha!
If you look at the description, though, it says it's not suitable for .30 cal bullets so it's a no for this build... unless you just put it on and push the bullet through...
I've not had kidney stones but I'd say it would be something like that...

On a more "serious" note, that Cookie Cutter Brake looks pretty cool and, big plus, it booms and also doubles as a glass breaker!
Now you gotta have the right handguard to make it look cool but, hey, may be worth a look.

I was somewhat close to buying that for my pistol but it's just a compensator and doesn't do anything for flash and my main focus for THAT gun was flash control.

I watched and read some reviews and the Cookie Cutter seemed quite effective at reducing muzzle climb.
I think it looks awesome when it's right up against the end of a free float tube but on a barrel that extends past the end of a tube it would look dorky.

This Wilson Combat Q-Comp looks interesting.

I like the clean, modern appearance as well.

It looks like a glorified machined A2 flash hider.
Besides, the video only shows it being shot on a 9mm rifle....so yeah, $60 A2 lol

Sounds like you were posting on their Youtube channel. LOL

    Here.
(Not that this has much more value since it's essentially an advertisement)

I don't fully disagree with your assessment though. It does appear very similar to an A2.
The inside appears completely smooth so the only real difference would seem to be the length and overall size/shape of the slots.
The outer fluting is likely for appearance only.

It's frustrating looking for a muzzle device for 7.62x39. Every time I run across something that looks promising, it ends up being available in 5.56 only.
So many to look at. I have time - I'll find one.

I think I'd prefer something that controls muzzle rise for this rifle as opposed to having effective flash hiding ability.

Can one assume that a muzzle device made for an AK47 will work on an AR15 barrel chambered in 7.62x39?

I believe all the barrels I've looked at were noted as: Muzzle Thread: 5/8-24
Is that the standard spec for an AK barrel muzzle thread?

This is essentially the first I've ever looked at these things so I don't know what barrels have what threads and what fits what right off the top of my head.

It's simple physics. There are no baffles or chambers to divert the gas to act as a comp/break. It's an A2, just longer and machined all pretty. Add the word "billet" and you've got a super duper A2.

Take a look at CNC warrior's site for AK style muzzle devices. I can say any work better than others, but they are 7.62 and prob have 5/8x24 tpi selections.

I wasn't even considering threads, my mistake
