Default new gun issue: sent it in or keep it

My new SIG P220 has a very tiny 'ding' on the aluminum frame rail, where the slide meets the frame. Haven't shot it yet, saw the tiny flaw when I went to grease and lube. It's on the bottom rail in the photo.

Will this affect the gun's integrity / durability? Here are my options:
    1) complain to SIG
    2) ignore it and just run the gun, keep it clean, and use it.

    Opinions? Thanks.

That is nothing to worry about. You're being obsessive. Look hard enough and everything is flawed.

Assuming not burrs, run it. If there is a small burr or two stone them off and then run it

I wouldn't worry much about it.

Probably a good idea to email Sig CS though and send them the pic to see what they say.

At least it'll be documented in case you have issues later.

That issue I would smooth out with a stone ! I have returned firearms on occasion when new if it was a malfunction when i got it back I would sell it with full disclosure of issue and remedy ! I just dont hold with any firearm that has a malfunction issue right out of the box.I have had nothing but 100% good luck with every Glock I have owned and CCW the G 43 & G 19 everyday ! MDT

    What gunsnwater said.

Run a few hundred rounds through it, it will probably smooth out.

    That's a lot of grease!

Wouldn't worry about that small imperfection if it doesn't affect performance. I'm OCD with stuff I spend hard earned money on too, but it's not worth your time calling CS, shipping it back, waiting for it to come back etc., IMO.

You want peace of mind? Have a qualified gunsmith look at it and give you his opinion.

So much lube are you going to take it rectally?

Can't tell from the pic, is it just a sub-surface ding/dent or is any part of it raised up?
