Franklin County "explaination"
I'm getting my LTCF from Franklin County. On the website ( http://www.franklincountypa.gov/inde...carry-firearms ) it says "Please be specific when requesting the type of license you want…multiple check offs are OK. _When checking “Self Defense” please give a short statement under “Other” to explain why this category is needed… (Example:“Carry money home from business” or “Transport gun from business to home”)_"
What gives? Is this seriously a requirement? If I don't put anything can they refuse?

Re: Franklin County "explaination"
I answered a question about that on an older form many years ago. My short "other" answer was I am out in the woods walking or at a remote camp a lot by myself. Period. That's all I wrote. Now I could add I'm old and decrepit plus I am out in the woods walking or at a remote camp a lot by myself.
Ask people you know who are LTC from Franklin County and ask them if your sheriff's office is prone to refusals.Engineers make things idiot proof! Evolution makes better idiots!

Re: Franklin County "explaination"
I feel like PA being a "shall issue" state is all you need. They're not in a position to judge or ask for a reason.

Re: Franklin County "explaination"
I feel like the whole LTCF process is a shit storm of epic proportions, If pass NICS then I should have the right to carry when , How and wherever I damn well please.
Its just a tax generating mechanism. How many people with LTCF? X $15?

Re: Franklin County "explaination"
Leave it blank. I have, and have counseled many others to do the same. There has never been an issue, though I believe they all were submitted before the current sheriff took office.
The requirement is long-standing, but (obviously) has no basis in law.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! PM for more info.

"911 doesn't respond instantly". It's snarky but also true/serious.
