    "A 30-year veteran Ligonier police officer awaiting trial for pointing a handgun at his ex-wife's husband and threatening to kill him last year wasn't permitted to carry a gun under state law, Westmoreland County Detectives alleged this week."

    Completely mind boggling !

    Apart from the fact that he had an involuntary commitment, what about the fact that he fired two rounds at his girlfriend and the dude in bed with her ? Isn't that attempted murder or at least aggravated assault ? Sounds like he was never charged with anything, just allowed to resign and then pop up at another department.

    I would say Ligonier is damn lucky he never shot anyone while on duty. That would have been a doozy of a lawsuit.

    I think what is disturbing is he fired 2 shots and missed.
