Prohibited Friend and Ammunition

I found that as well but it confused me. I thought it only pertained to buying and selling. I am not an idiot but trying to read and understand the actual text of laws is difficult especially Federal laws.

That's because they have to twist the wording to subvert the constitution....

I have ammo in calibers that I don't own guns. Things happen. Heck, I even have a couple magazines for guns I never owned....

That along with trying to avoid ambiguity where none should exist except for the unnatural wording of the laws in the first place. Seems we have forgotten that every word in a sentence means something but not everything.

When he went to buy the gun he found out he was prohibited.

If that is the case he should probably get a lawyer and soon because the state police will probably come knocking. At least up in my area the state police have been charging people for being prohibited and trying to buy a firearm. Some of these people it was stuff from years ago, one guy it was a 1961 conviction.

I have a friend that is prohibited from owning firearms.
I've tried telling him multiple times that he can't have any ammo but he won't listen to me.
Can anyone tell me exactly which law prohibits him from having ammo?? Thx

You didn't ask...but I feel obligated to point out that it is probably not a good idea to hang out with prohibited persons. I don't see how any good can come from it.

I'd never post anything on the classified section. That would likely involve meeting someone on here, and they'd probably just kill me and take my stuff....which would cause an unacceptable drop in my wife's household income.

I have small amounts of .45, -06, and .380, even though I currently don't own any of those (but want all three). I like to bring some ammo when I shoot other people's guns. And it makes sense to keep at least SOME ammo around for common calibers.
