Just moved to PA (CCW Questions)
I currently have a resident FL permit.
and was looking to obtain a PA resident permit.
What exactly do I have to do to be able to claim residency for permit purposes?
Will a copy of my lease, utility bills and PA drivers license (etc) suffice?
-and-
From my understanding there are "references" required?
^^^ However I don't really know anyone well enough who reside in PA to use as a reference.
Ideas?
I reside in Lewistown (Mifflin county).
**ALSO**
If anyone has a link which I can obtain an application for review that would be excellent.
I'd like to be able to start the process next week.
Thanks for your time,
John
***EDITED TO ADD***
Addendum:
I located a copy of the PA LTC application through my local sheriff's office website,

Re: Just moved to PA (CCW Questions)
Did you check packing.org to see if there was anything posted about your county? Each county seems to be a bit different, according to what I have found, in terms of their exact processes and procedures. Some do crazy things like call your employer... Others don't call anyone, not even your references. Some process your paperwork while you wait and you can walk out the door with the permit.
I would think that for residency, you're going to need a PA DL or non-drivers ID card.I don't have a LTCF yet and joined to get information.

You can check the PAFOA County by County Directory for your base information.

Re: Just moved to PA (CCW Questions)
your story sounds similar. i did the same thing but different county here in pa. first call the # on the back of your fl permit and give them your new address. that will allow you to carry here until you go and get your pa permit. pa and florida do have reciprocity and they honor fl non resident permits. then you can go get your pa permit when you get a chance. which i am suprised florida did reciprocity with pa since PA requires no training no live fire heck you don't even need to know how to load or unload and they will give ya a permit up here. rotten yankees j/k i was born up here but converted to a redneck.

I would go to the police and fill out an application. Explain that you just moved here and ask if you can use an out of state refrence. Also you have to show a copy of anyother states CCW. If you have one. Thats what chester county required. They never called my refrences. Your FL CCW might just act as your refrence. I have a FL CCW and I gave a copy of it to them.

Re: Just moved to PA (CCW Questions)
its been a few years since ive last filled out the application(just short of 5) but if i recall correctly, your references do not need to be local.
while on the topic of references, i just thought of this. my brother has a friend who used him and another friend as references, now this friend is an alright guy i guess, but to stupid and edgy to carry a gun. when called for reference checks, both my brother and the other friend told them that the friend in question should not be allowed to carry a gun, that he was unsafe, and that they felt he could do something stupid. the guy got his permit a few weeks later.

Re: Just moved to PA (CCW Questions)
They have a big sign saying that the references MUST be residence of the county or the application will not even be processed.
PS: And lawyers cost money.
