    Default Safe And Fire Hazard?

So, finally loaded up my Fatboy Jr. and put my GoldenRod in (18"). It's on the right side about 3" or so from front wall. So, I have the door kit that has 2 pockets at the bottom left and right. I noticed that even when the pockets are empty, seems there is a good chance for possible contact with the GoldenRod. Or at least they are really close. Seems like that pocket is useless now and well even empty may pose a hazard. Anyone have a similar issue and how do you deal with it? I could move the Goldenrod but pushing it back would take up even more space. Could this cause a fire?

What about putting it on the top?

Yeah, I am just figuring that in an enclosed space, circulation would occur. Bottom is preferable, but I bet top would be OK too.

That said, their site says "Installation is simple. Attach the universal bracket using the stainless screws supplied with the unit and snap the GoldenRod® in place into the bracket. GoldenRod® must be mounted horizontally at the bottom of an enclosure to work effectively. It can be mounted as a freestanding application or brackets may be attached to a vertical wall. GoldenRod® MUST always be mounted horizontally in order to work correctly."

Which means, I need to re-evaluate mine, so thanks for bringing it up. I currently have it mounted vertically, and it's been that way for years. My bet is it isn't an issue but I'll look at it aain.

Mine is on the bottom of my safe right against the floor. It never gets that hot. Unless there is some kind of short I don't think it will be a problem

If you make your safe air tight and back fill it with nitrogen, you won't have to worry about fire.

I'm thinking putting it on the bottom of your swimming pool would be best.

What about putting it against the back wall?
Does your safe have a vent hole?
