I've put lots of thought and have had several friends and family shoot with what I came up with for the course of fire. I originally wanted to do some one handed shooting but have found this difficult for at least 2-3 people so far with shoulder problems. Being that I want this to be an enjoyable 9 to 90 type shoot we're going to go with all two handed. The course will consist of 30 rounds as follows.

5 rounds slow fire 2 minute time limit twice.

5 rounds timed fire 20 second time limit twice.

5 rounds rapid fire 10 second time limit twice.

There will be two categories. Rimfire and centerfire. You can shoot in one or the other but not both unless for some reason we don't have enough shooters in each category to give out all the trophies then I'll open it up. So be prepared for both! The range will be 50 feet. Standard pistols and revolvers with open sights only are permitted. No optics or AR/AK type pistols. The targets will be black B27 targets. 11X27 for rimfire and 23X35 for centerfire. Scoring will be done in the standard way with shots breaking the line will be awarded the higher score. Shots fired after the ceasefire will each be a ten point deduction for your score. Ties will be broken in a shoot off.

If this goes well we'll continue this into next year. Suggestions are always welcome. Practice!
This was a lot of fun and hope we can do it again,

Have we reached maximum bacon? We must push the limits again next year to find out!

That was an awesome shoot. My shoulder is sore. Partly due to Ron bringing a literal ton of all kinds of big guns and ammo with strange names and calibers starting with "4"s and "5"s. (Any trucks like that, full of guns, ammo & punkins deserve priority parking.) And partly due to shooting plenty of pumpkins with my dad's Winchester .44 mag lever-action - that thing has some kick to it. I guess I don't appreciate some of his old-school guns as much as I should. My other guns barely phased the pumpkins, but his Winchester was dead-on accurate and regularly splattered pumpkin goo 10-20 feet in all directions. Thanks again RL & 27hand for the .44 ammo, and everybody else for all of the guns, bacon, steel n'at.

My dad didn't shoot much, but he had a fantastic time. I'm sure his best time shooting in many years. And bacon.

    Ohhh Baby.

    What a great time.
Those guys were hogs eating bacon and LOTS of it. This was the last of it.

The practice pound and a half we started with had quite a few overdone pieces.
I quickly ate them without anyone noticing for fear of embarrassment and ridicule.

I have a physical coming up on Wed and believe I will have to fast from now till then to wash away any trace of bacon grease from my blood vessels.

This guy is coming for bacon.

These guys are thinking about it.

I only got a few shots and I think my camera went south so there were a couple additional pics I may be able to get back.

I had a great time. I didn't do as well as I hoped on the bullseye shoot but did get to run the .357sig for the first time in quite a few years.

And Pumpkins. There were lots. pretty much like bacon.
Thank you all for attending, helping with setup and teardown and ensuring that no bacon had to be taken home uncooked.

The coffee was just the way I like it. Chewing on coffee grounds is good and good for you. Think roughage.

That crack I made about cooking the bacon after having washed my plumber hands a few weeks ago was false.
It was probably just about a week ago.

The Coleman stoves actually ran out of fuel trying to keep up.

A BIG thank you to you... I don't think anyone has spent as long over a camp stove as you did keeping us in bacon..

Hey, You all are welcome. I was happy to do it. Not a big deal.
Sometimes, the fun is watching people enjoy themselves. I did that.
I've taken plenty from the shoots I've attended.
Makin bacon is a small part of what many of you do and have done for a long time.

An absolutely great group of like minded people.

    Thank you all.

Some steel modifications are in order to make setup / teardown easier. I like just even building that stuff. Makes me smile.

I'll be shooting for 8am as well. Between Pennlineman and myself, one of us should have the gate open around that time.

For first timers, here's an aerial view.
When you enter the club go through the gate and bear to the right.
Go past the large building (please drive slowly) and continue past the trap/skeet area.
You will then start up a hill and around a sharp curve and at the top you will pass the "Steel Paradise" bay.
Continue on to the top where the large, open bay is and you are there.

you have been photofucked on my end anyway
