Updated Project: Suppressor Adapters-Another one
So I finally found some free time today to machine a suppressor adapter for mounting my Liberty Mystic on a 300 BO upper. Tested and functional. Very satisfying. When I get my M18x1.0 tap, I'll make one for my CZ Scorpion EVO also. Then thread protectors/caps for both. Hopefully next week. Now if the stamp ever materializes for the SBR lower...

Re: Today's Project: Suppressor Adapter
You machined that? Really nice work. I want to get a harbor freight or grizzley mill.
Just for my hobbies (model airplanes, helicopters, little gun stuff).

Re: Today's Project: Suppressor Adapter
They don't make adapters? I've got one for all my cans from the vendor.

Re: Today's Project: Suppressor Adapter
Yes, I machined that. 4140 or 4150 steel. I think I'll just paint it black and be done with it.
Sure, they make adapters. But they're around $100, a one size fits all, and pretty bulky. Or the compact aluminum one. This is compact, steel, and just the right fit for my application. Just protrudes past the HG about 1/16". And it's not always about the economicsLast edited by esh21167; February 1st, 2017 at 09:53 PM.

Re: Today's Project: Suppressor Adapter
Looks good but it might void your warranty with them if something were to happen. With the smaller size compared to the liberty adapter you are decreasing the volume of the blast chamber and might cause damage or accelerated wear to the blast baffle. Just something to keep in mind and an eye on. Looks good though wish I had the skills and machines to do that. Liberty might sell more cans if they made adapters like that, I know it's why I didn't go with a mystic.

Re: Today's Project: Suppressor Adapter
I hadn't thought about the warranty, but I don't think I'll have an issue. It creates a larger blast chamber than their low profile FBA's. Those are aluminum and recommended for only subsonic ammo, and that's what my adapter will be dedicated to. I based my design roughly on those.

Ok, I didn't realize that Liberty started making smaller adapters like that for subsonic use. Makes sense as the other adapters are heavy and hideous.

Re: Today's Project: Suppressor Adapter
Made one for the Scorpion EVO today. It could have been a little shorter. Maybe I'll replace it later. The small OD at the muzzle is the same size as the diameter of the factory/US flash hider. The retention spring slides right over it. Didn't get to test it and with the 'blizzard' coming, it may be a few days.
