Default World War Two Match at LRGC 2/25/2017

    Friends,

Below please find the link for our Saturday, February 25th World War Two Practical Rifle Match. Our matches typically sellout in under 15 minutes so please be ready to go when the link opens. Our range is located at 251 Stoneyford Road Holland PA in Bucks County.

This month's match will be held on our LONG RANGE. All targets will be between 15 and 200 yards. As is tradition for our February match, we will be featuring firearms used during World War Two. This includes bolt action rifles, magazine fed rifles and enbloc clip fed rifles. We ask that those using bolt action rifles use stripper clips to speed reloading. Please note that we are excluding the SKS from this match. All firearms must be able to fire in semi-auto mode. No full auto fire will be permitted. We will be enjoying a GI- era mess after the match in our clubhouse so bring your appetite.

We open the below Registration Link promptly at 9:00am on the 10th of the month.

    A positive and safe attitude
Please insert your chamber flag prior to casing your rifle for transport to the match

    Optional items :

    Knee and Elbow pads
    A shooting mat
    Binoculars or Spotting scope

    Things to think about:

We shoot in rain, sleet, snow, and heat. Please be sure to dress for conditions. You will shoot in standing, knelling and prone positions. That means you may get wet or dirty. Please wear appropriate foot gear. We strongly suggest a good boot. No open toe shoes are permitted. Please note that due to a recent the recent ATF clarification on the use of SIG brace style attachments, we can no longer permit the use of a pistol with a SIG style brace at our match unless it is legally registered as a short barreled rifle. You will need to have a copy of your Form 1, 3, or 4.

Lastly, you will need to be signed in with your target posted by no later than 0830hrs on Match Day. Once we start the Match Safety briefing, we can not accommodate you. So please be sure to be on time.

See you at the LONG range!

    Gary

Sounds like a good time , and not too far.

Is there a list of rifles allowed. Or just any military rifle available during WWII? Krags were issues to someone during WWII , no?

Im left wondering if it is a "World War Two Practical Rifle Match" and the first requirement is "A period suitable firearm" why would SBR,suppressors and SIG Braces even need to be mentioned ?

If you had a specific rifle you wanted to use I would check with Lastdefender. They had a sniper match a couple years back and he allowed me to use my 8x scope on my Springfield after I proved it was used in the war.

They have the same disclaimer for all of their practical rifle matches, this is the only one not using modern weapons with such devices present.

I imagine the exception would be a Thompson M1. They had 10.5" barrels and were definitely used in WWII and if you have a semi auto 10.5" then it would be an SBR.

Any centerfire period military rifle (excluding the SKS) is fine.

That is our standard disclaimer. SBR's are fine for this match as people have semi-auto versions of WW2 guns such as Stens and Thompsons. All we ask is you bring your paperwork.

What a great match today! Thank you for everyone who signed up to shoot with us. Congratulations to Carl A. Jr. and Steve K. for their amazing performance. Thank you also to all our RSO's and to Mike Y. for all his help. Lastly special thanks to Donna and Chase for their help with our meal.
Here is a link to the score sheet. As a reminder, March is our "last chance" match as it's the last chance for you to earn a spot into our Champions Match in April.
