Homemade muzzle device as a goof.

Hey guys, I am bored and thought it would be funny to make a homemade flash can / muzzle device kinda thing as a goof.

The goof is that I would be using a black 10mm long socket as the device. I would color fill the 10mm markings to add to the humor.

Here are my questions . . .

What tap & die set would I need for a 9mm and for a .45?
What size holes do I drill for each bore to be tapped?
I know I have to also bore out the 10mm to fit a .45 round through it but how big should that exit hole be?

This will add no intended benefit to the gun, I am not trying to direct muzzle blast or hide/enhance flash, it is solely for goof but want it safe enough to actually use on the gun.

Any help would be appreciated as would any humorous insults about the project. LOL

It*s going to be tough to tap a socket unless you anneal it first. Thread sizes can probably be found on Silencerco*s web sight.

So long as the hole is larger than the bullet going through it, you're good. (obviously)

The drill/tap size is not directly related to the caliber, but to the existing threads on the muzzle of the barrel.

And yes, tapping it might be problematic.

My opinion is you'd be better off making something look like a socket than to use an actual socket.
