YARMOUTH PORT – As you will hear in the following bizarre HN Audio (with photos from the scene), shortly after 3:00 AM this morning, police rushed to an address on Scoop Cir. after the homeowners were awakened by a strange woman in their bedroom.

According to radio transmissions, the woman walked into the bedroom with a flashlight saying she was looking for someone named “Rich.”

The woman was described as a white female with blond hair, maybe in her mid-forties…

Video: Homeowner shoots criminal with bow and arrow
    Rebecca Atkins

BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (KRQE) - San Juan County deputies were called to a bizarre incident near Bloomfield in late May when a woman told deputies a man she didn't know was bleeding all over her porch.

"He's still got the arrow in his arm," said a dispatcher in the police video.

The man on the woman's porch turned out to be 38-year-old Eric Tillerson. Deputies and paramedics say he had an arrow lodged in his arm.

"Does that hurt?" said a deputy to Tillerson heard in police video as he moans in pain.

Deputies were trying to figure out what happened, and why someone had shot Tillerson with a bow and arrow.

As Tillerson was rushed to a nearby hospital, deputies tracked his trail of blood back to the scene of the crime. When they found themselves at another house, the homeowner told them Tillerson had been coming by his home throughout the day, making threats.

He then said Tillerson later hopped a fence and shot at a dog. That's when he pulled out his bow and arrow and shot Tillerson in the arm.

"How much pain are you in?" a detective is heard asking Tillerson during an interview, he replied, "Extreme. It f****** hurts man."

At the hospital, Tillerson bolted, but deputies found him soon after and eventually sat him down to ask what happened.

"I'm looking for your side of the story," said a detective.

Tillerson said he did not know why the homeowner shot at him and claimed he was good friends with the person who shot him. But deputies weren't buying it.

Surveillance video ended up connecting Tillerson to an attempted break-in just days earlier at a Farmington home. One town over, and one arrow through his arm later, deputies said they had their guy.

Tillerson has a long criminal history that includes numerous charges for burglary and aggravated assault.

Man charged after argument over car repairs
    Rutland Herald | June 23, 2018

WILLIAMSTOWN — Jason Provost, of Berlin, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday after an argument that police said became so heated that a Williamstown man fired a gun in Provost’s direction.

Provost, 43, of Berlin, was cited for unlawful trespass, unlawful mischief and having a weapon while committing a crime.

In a news release, police said Provost entered a Cogswell Street home on Saturday at about 12:30 a.m. Provost allegedly had a wooden dowel and the two men had a verbal argument over automobile repairs.

Police said the argument escalated to the point where the resident produced a firearm and fired it in Provost’s direction but there were no injuries as a result of the incident.

Provost was taken into custody. He was held at the South Burlington jail without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Orange County criminal court in Chelsea on Monday.

Resident’s son shoots, kills other man trying to break into her home

A man visiting his mother shot and killed a 41-year-old man trying to break into the Akron home early Saturday morning, police say.

The resident called police to report a man trying to break into her home in the 600 block of Wyandot Avenue shortly after midnight. The resident’s 36-year-old son struggled to keep the man from coming in the back door. The resident grabbed a handgun and gave it to her son, who shot the intruder, police say.

The two men continued to struggle and the son shoved the man out of the house and fired another shot. Police found the man in the backyard, where he was pronounced dead, police say.

“Send an ambulance,” the upset resident told a dispatcher in a 911 call. “My son had to shoot him!”

The woman told the dispatcher that the doorbell rang and she went to the front door, while her son went to the back door. She said the man kept trying to break in and her son shouted at him, “Get out of here!” and “Get off my mom’s property!” but he didn’t listen.

She said neither of them knew the man.

“Wow!” she said. “Oh, my God!”

No charges have been filed. The shooting remains under investigation.

The incident could end up resulting in no charges. Under Ohio’s Castle doctrine, homeowners may use deadly force to protect themselves against an intruder.

The victim’s name is being withheld by authorities pending positive identification and family notifications.

Dad Tells Children to Hide in Car Before He Shoots Intruder

Two young girls got the fright of their lives after their father told them to hide in the car while he checked their home in Petersburg, Virginia, on June 21.

Moments later, the girls heard shots being fired.

The family told reporters they had noticed something was wrong when they arrived home after a trip to the store.

“My dad told me that the TV was gone and then he told me to get back in the car,” the 8-year-old, whose identity was not revealed, told WTVR. “I took my sister to the car and then when I got in the car, I told her to lay down in the seat.”

When her father came out of the house, all the child could hear was shooting.

“Then one of the boys ran over there, and two came out here, and that boy shot at my dad, and my dad shot back,” she told WTVR.

No one was hit, but the bullets hit the home and a neighbor’s home.

Police found an important piece of evidence at the scene.

“A gun was found at the front door, whoever was one of the persons leaving out the house, dropped his gun,” the girls’ grandmother said.

Two Xbox video game systems and two television sets are now missing, according to the family.

Ocala man shot inside ex-girlfriend’s home has been arrested
Austin L. Miller Most Popular Our Picks
Duane Joseph Sanders faces charges of burglary with assault or battery, occupied burglary and grand theft. The woman’s son said he shot Sanders because he was afraid he might harm his sisters.

OCALA – A man hospitalized close to a month after he was found inside the home of his ex-girlfriend and was shot by her son, has been released from medical care and arrested by police.

Duane Joseph Sanders, 30, was discharged from Ocala Regional Medical Center on Saturday and was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was booked on charges of burglary with assault or battery, occupied burglary and grand theft, according to Ocala Police Department officials and jail records.

Bail for Sanders was set at $42,000. His next court date is 9 a.m. July 24.

Sanders’ ex-girlfriend told Detective Josh Fried that Sanders has continually harassed her and has broken into her home, which is in the 4500 block of Southeast 14th Street.

At 11:35 p.m. May 19, while the woman was away from her home, someone called 911 and said they had seen Sanders by the home. Officers went there, but did not see him.

The woman’s son, age 21, later told Fried that at 2:30 a.m. on May 20, he and one of his sisters heard noises outside and saw a truck in the driveway and believed Sanders was trying to enter the home. They did not call 911, according to Fried’s report.

Then, at 4:17 a.m., the young man told Fried, he heard noises in the hallway outside his bedroom and called police. He said he walked out of his room and saw Sanders at the stairs that lead to his mother’s bedroom, where his sisters, ages 4 and 16, were staying. He said Sanders ran up the stairs and he thought he was going to harm the girls so he fired at least two shots at the intruder.

He said Sanders ran into the bedroom and closed the door. He said he kicked the door in and the older girl told him that Sanders had jumped out the window.

Sanders later was hospitalized in critical condition, with gunshot wounds in the right hip and left leg.

Local court records show a domestic battery case against Sanders was dropped in September 2008 after the victim requested no prosecution. Two years later, another battery case was dropped when the victim requested no prosecution.

In 2012, Sanders was adjudicated guilty for battery and resisting an officer without violence and was placed on one year of probation. In 2013, he was adjudicated guilty of domestic battery and sentenced to 120 days. In 2014, prosecutors dropped a violation of his pretrial release on a domestic violence charge. While there was probable cause for his arrest, prosecutors said, the likelihood of a conviction was slight.

Sanders was adjudicated guilty in 2015 for disorderly conduct and resisting an officer without violence. He was given community service and probation.

Two years ago, charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence and trespassing after warning were dropped because of “other legal issues,” according to court documents.
