Man Shoots Robber Armed With Knife in Upper Darby: Police
A man who was armed with a gun turned the tables on a robber armed with a knife and shot him in the leg in Upper Darby late Sunday morning, according to police.
Police told NBC10 a man was in the area of Bridge and James streets shortly before 11:30 a.m. when he was approached by a robber armed with a knife.
The robber threatened the man who repeatedly warned him that he had a concealed gun, investigators said. The robber ignored the man’s warnings and continued to move toward him with the knife, according to officials. Police say the man then opened fire and shot the man once in the leg.
The robbery suspect was taken to the hospital and was later released. Police have not yet revealed his identity or the specific charges against him.
The man who shot the robber had a license to carry a concealed weapon, officials said. Police ruled the shooting was justifiedLast edited by internet troll; June 12th, 2017 at 01:20 PM.

Abilene man's murder charge dropped after evidence backs self-defense claim
http://www.ktxs.com/news/abilene/mot...und4/537738081
ABILENE, Texas - The murder charge against a 25-year-old Abilene man accused of killing his roommate in early 2014 has been dropped.
On Monday, Brian Andrew Fogiel had the charge dismissed by Judge Thomas Wheeler in the 350th District Court.
The Taylor County District Attorney's Office had filed a motion to drop the murder charge against Fogiel more than three years after the shooting death of his roommate.
Fogiel was charged with first-degree felony murder in the April 2014 shooting that left 23-year-old Rafael Oloyede dead at The Landing apartment complex.
The preliminary police investigation had indicated Fogiel and his roommate got into an argument before the fatal shooting.
Taylor County Assistant District Attorney Dan Joiner tells KTXS that his office found evidence while preparing for trial that corroborated with Fogiel’s theory of self-defense.
Joiner says the evidence made it impossible to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, causing the district attorney to request the case be dismissed.

Citing self-defense, state drops murder charges against North Charleston man in 2016 shooting
http://www.postandcourier.com/news/c...9f010ee0d.html
Two charges — one for murder and one for attempted murder — were dropped against a North Charleston man, according to court records. The move came more than a year after he allegedly pulled the trigger.
The state cited self-defense in the filings that dismissed the charges against Davey Allan Ramsey II, who was 29 at the time of the March 2016 shooting.
Ramsey was arrested on Easter Sunday 2016 after he allegedly fatally shot 20-year-old Shalaine Jenkins and wounded another man. The court filings dismissing the charges appeared Monday.
The surviving victim had described the shooter as a short, skinny black man named Allan, The Post and Courier reported at the time. Phone records showed several calls between the surviving victim and Ramsey prior to the shooting, and surveillance footage showed Ramsey and the two victims sitting together at the Waffle House at 6907 Dorchester Road.
Jenkins was left for dead on Ridgebrook Drive, the newspaper reported at the time, and the other man was found and taken to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Cops: Delco man killed robber in self defense
http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20...html?mobi=true
A 68-year-old man fatally shot a man who attempted to rob him in a park in Upper Darby Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The shooter was licensed to carry a gun and acted in self defense by pulling his own revolver on two robbers, said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood.
"It looks like the victim was minding his own business, walking legally," Chitwood said.
The 68-year-old man was walking by himself through Cobbs Creek Park when he was approached by two males in their late 20s, police said.
One of the men had a stick in his hand and the other man had a gun, the man told police. He pulled out his own gun and shot the man carrying the stick. The other man fled the scene, Chitwood said. The shooter then also left the scene, called 911, and described the incident.
The man who died had not been identified Wednesday afternoon. Chitwood declined to identify the shooter, who was transported to the hospital with chest pains. He said the investigation was ongoing, but charges against the shooter were not expected.
"He feared for his life. He pulled his gun and shoots one of the holdup men and kills him," Chitwood said.
Police had also not identified the third man involved.

http://www.breitbart.com/california/...three-armed-r/
A car audio store owner in Downey, California fought back against three armed robbery suspects Monday, shooting two fatally and wounding the third.
The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Monday.
According to ABC 7, the attempted robbery occurred at First Class Car Audio. Police said they arrived to to find two suspects dead inside the business and the wounded suspect had fled the scene.

UPPER DARBY WOMAN FIGHTS BACK, SHOOTS LAUNDROMAT ATTACKER WITH HIS GUN
https://www.google.com/amp/6abc.com/...acker/1734220/
UPPER DARBY, Pa. - A woman fought back against her attacker inside an Upper Darby, Delaware County laundromat early Wednesday morning.
She even managed to shoot the suspect with his own gun.
Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood payed tribute Thursday to the woman, Naou Mor Khantha.
Mor Khantha is a Laotian-born mother of three. She was working her overnight shift at the laundromat when the incident occurred.
Surveillance video shows a man armed with a 9 millimeter handgun enter the laundromat.
Police say he was attempting to rob and rape the woman after trapping her in the restroom.
A wrestling match ensued between the two.
"I was scared. I was in fear of my life. I had to do what I had to do. I arm-wrestled him to save my life," Mor Khantha said.
She wrestled with him for 10 minutes and then the gun was fired.
In the video, Mor Khantha is shown fleeing with gun in hand; the suspect emerges moments later with a shattered left arm.
She fled to the 7-Eleven across the street to call police.
The suspect collapsed on the sidewalk outside the laundromat, but was able to scramble back to his feet.
He was arrested several blocks away.
He is identified as 23-year-old Daquan Brooks from Wilmington, Delaware. He remains hospitalized in serious condition. He will be charged with aggravated assault and robbery among other charges.
"She fought for her life. She won. She's a lucky young lady," Chitwood said.
Mor Khantha tells Action News she had previously been held at gunpoint by a 14-year-old suspect.
She now says she's looking for a new line of work.
