    Woman shot ex-boyfriend after a 'physical fight' at party, deputies say
    ATASCOCITA, Texas (KTRK) -- Deputies are investigating a shooting that left a man dead early Sunday morning in northeast Harris County.

    Precinct 4 constables and Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies were on the scene in the 5400 block of Palamino Court.

    According to authorities, a woman says her ex-boyfriend attacked her at a party when she shot him.

    Deputies say there were five or six people at the party including two juveniles. They say the man was invited to the house for the party.

    DURHAM — Police are looking for a dark colored Ford pickup truck that was allegedly involved in a shooting Monday night.

    According to Connecticut State Police, around 10:25 p.m., Troopers from Troop F in Westbrook were dispatched to 49 Mountain Road in Durham to investigate a shooting.

    Police said they were told that the homeowner arrived at his residence and noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway. As he approached, the vehicle’s occupants started shooting at him, police said.

    “The home owner’s vehicle was struck several times,” state police said. “As a result, the homeowner retrieved a firearm and returned fire as the suspicious vehicle fled the scene.”

    Eastern District Major Crimes Detectives are investigating this incident and anyone with any information with this investigation should contact Detective Kendrick at 860 399-2121 or 860 399-2121.

    Alleged burglary suspect shot multiple times in Lehi
    July 14, 2019

    LEHI, Utah, July 14, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was transported to an area hospital after officials said he was shot trying to break into a Lehi apartment Saturday night.

    A burglary in progress was reported in the area of 391 N. 900 East at approximately 8:40 p.m., according to Lehi police officials. Officers were told the suspect had been at the home earlier, then had come back and allegedly attempted to forcibly enter the residence.

    At some point, he was reportedly shot by the homeowner multiple times.

    The relationship between the suspect and the resident is not clear at this early stage.

    The suspect was transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening, officials said.

    The incident is still under investigation. Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.

    WILLIAMSTON, SC (FOX Carolina) - Anderson County deputies are investigating after a homeowner reportedly shot and killed a man caught trying to break into the homeowner's residence in Williamston.

    Deputies said they were called to the home on Boiter Road just after 8 p.m.responding to a reported shooting on Sunday night, Anderson County dispatch confirms.

    When deputies arrived, they found the suspect deceased.

    The 35-year-old homeowner told deputies he had shot the suspect, a man he did not know, when the suspect was trying to force entry into the home through the front door.

    The coroner has not yet released the name of the deceased.

    Deputies said the case was still under investigation as of Monday morning.

    Cops: 19-year-old woman shot after luring man to apartment to rob him

    A 19-year-old woman was shot at a Clayton County apartment complex after she lured a man inside and tried to rob him Sunday night, investigators said.

    Police were called to the Anthos at Chase Ridge apartments on Ga. 85 outside Riverdale around 9 p.m. They found the woman, who was identified as Sijeria Parks, with a gunshot wound to the head. According to Clayton County police, her injuries are life-threatening. She was taken to a local hospital, where she is listed in critical condition, police said.

    Investigators determined Parks invited a man into her home and tried to rob him with help from three other people, according to Clayton police spokeswoman Officer Marcena Davis. During the robbery attempt, at least one person pulled out a gun, according to police.

    The victim, who had his own gun, fired in an attempt to get away, Davis said. He was able to run away and call police. The victim is currently cooperating with investigators, Davis said. A witness to the shooting told Channel 2 Action News the woman is a mother of two children.We are working to learn more.— Please return to AJC.com for updates.

    Police: 14-year-old killed in Southaven was shot by homeowner during home invasion

    SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — New details were released after a teen was found shot dead in a Southaven neighborhood last week.

    According to police, 14-year-old Christopher Cooper, Joshua Fletcher, Justin Williams and Ashley Lutts were involved in a home invasion in the 800 block of Tuscany in Southaven on Wednesday, July 10.

    The homeowner pulled a gun and opened fire on the suspects, striking Cooper.

    He was found in the middle of the intersection of Tuscany Way and Surrey Lane dead from a gunshot wound.

    Fletcher, 25, and Williams, 30, were both charged with burglary- home invasion and capital murder. Lutts, 19, was charged with conspiracy to commit a crime.

    Intruder arrested for sexual assault attempt in Phoenix home
    PHOENIX (AP) — Police have arrested a man who allegedly tried to sexually assault a sleeping woman in her Phoenix home.

    They say 32-year-old Francisco Meza-Beltran was booked into jail Monday on suspicion of sexual abuse, kidnapping, assault, burglary and trespassing.

    It’s unclear if he has a lawyer yet.

    Police say the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. when Meza-Beltran allegedly entered two homes through unlocked doors.

    He was confronted by the armed male homeowner in the first house and fled.

    The suspect then allegedly attempted to sexually assault a woman while she slept in the second home.

    The woman woke up and fought him and the suspect ran off when she called out to her adult son.

    Police later caught Meza-Beltran as he tried to climb onto the roof of a third home.

    Food delivery driver shoots would-be robber in southwest Houston, police say
    Houston police responded to reports of a shooting at about 10:30 p.m. Monday.

    JERSEY VILLAGE, Texas — A man was arrested Sunday after deputies said he caused $6,800 in damage at a Sonic near Cy-Fair because he was upset with the service.

    Precinct 4 deputies said Joshua Defriese, 33, was at the Sonic-Drive In in the 32200 block of Northwest Freeway when he became upset over the delay in service.

    He damaged a door and digital menu at the fast-food chain before driving off.

    Deputies were able to identify and locate Defriese some time after the incident. He was taken back to the Sonic where witnesses positively identified him as the person who damaged the property.

    He was arrested and booked into Harris County Jail on a $1,500 bond.

    He was charged with criminal mischief.

    Suspected burglar shot to death, resident injured during San Carlos home break-in

    SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A suspected burglar was killed and a resident was injured during a break-in at a San Carlos home Tuesday morning.

    The incident was reported shortly before 6:30 a.m. at a home in the 6300 block of Lake Shore Drive.

    Details are still coming in, but 10News learned a person suspected of breaking into the home was confronted by the homeowner and his son and an altercation ensued.

    During the confrontation, the suspected burglar was shot by the homeowner’s son, but the homeowner also suffered unspecified injuries.

    10News learned the suspected burglar fled the house but fell into a swimming pool in the backyard.

    A San Diego police lieutenant told 10News that the suspected burglar died at the scene and the injured homeowner was taken to the hospital.

    This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

    SPARTANBURG Co., S.C. (WSPA) — Deputies say a homeowner shot a suspect during a reported break-in.

    It happened Tuesday morning at a home in the 800 block of Miller Road in Woodruff.

    Spartanburg County sheriff’s deputies and emergency responders are on the scene.

    Deputies say the wounded suspect ran from the scene, but is now in custody.

    Neighbors tell 7News they heard gunfire before one person ran from the home screaming “I’ve been shot. Help me.”

    Their condition was not immediately available.

    A medical helicopter was seen lifting off near the scene. It’s unknown if the helicopter was transporting the person shot.
