Imagine that. A 20 year needed to protect himself. Listening to antis you would think a person is never put in self defense situations until they turn 21.

One suspect is on the loose after a victim used his gun to subdue the suspect's partner during an attempted robbery late Sunday night.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said the shooting occurred in the 300 block of 60th Ave. Dr. W. around 11:10 p.m. A 20-year-old man shot Trenton Brown, 20, in the thigh after he and another suspect attempted to rob him at gunpoint.

Deputies said Brown was injured in the front yard of the home when they arrived. Further investigation revealed that Brown fired at the victim and was struck by return fire in self-defense. The victim was not injured.

Brown was taken to a local hospital and charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The second suspect remains at large, according to the sheriff's office.

MAN ACCUSED OF NAKED HOT TUB SHOOTING ACQUITTED ON ALL COUNTS
he attorney of accused shooter Charles Curtis says that a self-defense argument won over a Jackson County jury.

MEDFORD, Ore. — A man charged with Attempted Murder and Assault after shooting his erstwhile host with a handgun has been acquitted of all charges by a jury in Jackson County.

At the time of his arrest on May 3 of 2017, police said that Charles Curtis of Albuquerque, New Mexico had been staying with Medford-resident Daniel Daly and his girlfriend Diane Rose, when Daly and Rose got in a fight, causing Daly to leave the house.

When Daly returned, he found Curtis and Rose in the hot tub—and Curtis was naked.

Daly confronted Curtis, after which Curtis produced a handgun, shooting Daly in the arm. When police arrived at the house, they took Curtis into custody. The accused shooter was charged with Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Firearm).

When the case unfolded in court, however, Curtis' lawyer Christopher Missiaen argued a more complex sequence of events.

According to Missiaen's case, Daly threatened and assaulted Curtis several times prior to the shooting—telling Curtis that he would need to leave or Daly would 'kill him.' The defense also argued that Daly had been in intense conflict with Rose that night, and they attempted to establish a history of domestic violence in that relationship.

State evidence claimed that police dispatch had received multiple 911 calls that night regarding the house on Eagle Trace Drive. Some of them were calls to report the shooting, however they also reported a female caller saying "Domestic violence. Come now."

Missiaen argued that Daly had assaulted his client, slamming Curtis' head onto concrete and the side of the hot tub. It was when Daly returned for a second time that Curtis felt in fear of his life and produced a handgun, shooting Daly.

The defense's argument was enough to sway the Jackson County jury on Thursday, who ruled to acquit Curtis on all four charges, 10-2.

Missiaen said that his client is 'very happy to live in a country where we are innocent until proven guilty.

Police: Burglar held at gunpoint after child beaten
ELGIN, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a South Carolina man held a burglar at gunpoint after the suspect broke into his home and started beating his 11-year-old son.

Kershaw County Chief Deputy Jack Rushing says deputies responding to a burglar alarm at an Elgin home around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday found the homeowner with a gun trained on 23-year-old Nathaniel Roberts

Rushing says the homeowner told deputies right after the alarm went off, his son started screaming and Roberts started beating him.

Rushing said in a statement the homeowner grabbed his pistol and held Roberts for police.

Rushing says Roberts appeared to be drunk or high.

Roberts faces burglary and assault and battery charges. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.

CORONER: Man shot to death by Carrollton, Ky. homeowner
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An official says a man is dead after he was shot by a Carroll County, Kentucky, homeowner as he was kicking in the door of the home.

According to David Wilhoite, the Carroll County Coroner, the incident took place early Tuesday morning, in the Sycamore Trace subdivision on Sycamore Circle in Carrollton, Kentucky.

Wilhoite says the 37-year-old man kicked in the door of the home, and the homeowner shot him.

The man was pronounced dead at 6:40 a.m. His identity has not yet been released, and his family is still being notified.

Just before the shooting, Wilhoite says the man got into an argument with nearby sanitation engineers who were picking up the trash, and the man pulled a knife on the workers. According to Wilhoite, a fight ensued, but it was eventually broken up. That's when, Wilhoite says, the man went to the home and kicked in the door.

UPDATE: No charges filed after juvenile kills man in Choctaw County
Editor's Note: This article has been updated since its publication.

CHOCTAW COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - New details are coming out following a fatal shooting in Choctaw County.

On Tuesday, May 29 at approximately 3:21 p.m., Choctaw County deputies responded to a shooting at 297 E. Smith Road.

When officers arrived, they found Jerry Lee Robinson on the front porch of a house. He was non-responsive and had suffered a single gunshot wound to his chest.

    Robinson was later pronounced dead.

Choctaw County Chief Deputy Lee Upchurch says the shooter is a juvenile. The name of the juvenile is not being released because of age.

Upchurch says the juvenile shooter was home alone when Robinson attempted to enter the house with a hatchet in his hand.

The juvenile had a .270 rifle and met Robinson at the door. Upchurch says Robinson made an aggressive move toward the juvenile and the juvenile fired one shot at Robinson.

Robinson had reportedly made threats against the family as recently as two weeks ago.

No charges are currently being filed against the juvenile. The case will be presented before a grand jury in August.

No charges anticipated in fatal Adams County shooting
BURTON, Ill. -- The 19-year-old Camp Point man killed in a shooting Monday in Adams County was reportedly shot by a homeowner during an alleged home invasion.

The Illinois State Police said Logan M. Graham was confronted by the homeowner while gaining entry into the residence after Graham made threats of violence. The homeowner reportedly fired a shotgun at Graham, who later died at Blessing Hospital.

Adams County State's Attorney Gary Farha said he doesn't anticipate charges being filed in the case, but said he is waiting until all reports are provided from the State Police.

The Adams County Sheriff's Department said deputies responded to a possible home invasion in progress around 2:45 p.m. Monday at the home near Ill. 104 and East 1330th Street.

Prior to deputies arriving, the department said a white male, later identified as Graham, left the scene by vehicle. Deputies found the vehicle, and a short chase ensued without the subject stopping.

Graham reportedly went back to the original address, and when deputies arrived, they found him with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Police said the incident remains under investigation

Gun-toting grandma tries to take back neighborhood from Spice dealers

Granny with a gun trying to take back her west side neighborhood from spice dealers

    http://fox5sandiego.com/2018/05/30/g...spice-dealers/

INDIANAPOLIS – Fed up and armed with a gun, a grandmother is trying to take back her neighborhood from the drug dealers she says ripped it apart.

Jonnie McIntosh gave WXIN her message for any criminals at work near her Haughville, Indiana block: “It is loaded. Get your drugs and get out of my neighborhood.”

McIntosh said two of those suspected drug dealers threatened to shoot her and her 70-year-old husband over a drug deal on Tuesday.

He pulled his gun out and when I saw the gun come out that is when I grabbed my gun,” McIntosh said.

The no-nonsense granny said she grabbed her loaded Glock when the suspects demanded $20.00 for her grandson’s Spice debt.

“If you are stupid enough to sell it to these kids, you get what you deserve,” McIntosh said.

McIntosh told WXIN that her grandson just overdosed on Spice two weeks ago.

“I do not see what they get out of it," she said. "Who wants to sit there passed out and do not have a clue what is going on around them.”

McIntosh is trying to help him get clean, but said Spice dealers are on every street near her house on N. Berwick.

Spice has been an ongoing issue for police in Indianapolis. Just this month, emergency crews recorded runs to nearly a dozen drug overdoses within a mile of McIntosh’s home.

“Back in my day, it was marijuana and Boones Farm wine. That is all my parents had to worry about. This stuff has bug spray in it and all kinds of chemicals. Whatever they decide to spray on it. Any way that they can get high,” McIntosh said.

Just last year, McIntosh’s pregnant granddaughter, 18-year-old Brittany McNew, was murdered near Haughville.

“She died over a drug deal because a guy decided to rob another guy for heroin and Spice,” said McIntosh.

This grandma is not ready to lose another loved one to the drug trade and said she will do whatever it takes to stop the dealers.

“Get off your lazy rump and get a job. Quit pushing drugs on these kids,” McIntosh said.
