Robbery bid foiled after man shoots at miscreants

    https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...w/62357369.cms
According to police, five robbers had entered the house of Tahir Raza late on Tuesday night. As soon as the miscreants entered his house, Raza opened fire from his double barrel rifle. After cross firing that lasted for couple of minutes, the accused fled from the spot while one of the robbers sustained bullet injuries. Raza said that the robbers might have come to steal wedding gifts and jewellery that he had kept for his daughter’s marriage on February 18.

Raza said that he ran a cosmetics and garment shop from his house. The robbers tried to enter his house cutting the shutter of the shop. “As soon as robbers entered the shop, I opened fire on them. They also fired at me but I didn’t give up and forced them escape the scene,” he said.

Hearing the gun shots, villagers gathered on the spot and informed the police. Meanwhile, the robbers fled leaving a shawl and a slipper at the spot.
Circle officer, Ashok Kumar Mina, said that they had alerted all nearby police stations to keep a check on nursing homes and hospitals to nab the injured robbers.
“During the cross-firing, it appears, one or two robbers sustained bullet injuries as we spotted blood marks at the crime scene. All government hospitals have been alerted to inform them immediately if they receive any case of bullet injuries. We are keeping a check on private nursing homes and clinics in the area,” he said.

Clerk Shoots Suspect in LR Store Robbery

    http://www.arkansasmatters.com/news/...bery/899666524
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Police are searching for two suspects in connection to a New Year's Day gas station robbery on Colonel Glenn Road.

The Little Rock Police Department says the incident was not reported until Wednesday.

The official report states that the manager of the Exxon spoke with police about the incident and played security footage.

The video reportedly showed a male with a baseball jersey style shirt and a ski mask enter the business accompanied by a female subject wearing a black hoodie with a pink backpack style purse across the front of her chest.

Police say that the video footage showed that the male had a black handgun, while the female entered with a long barrel rifle with a wooden stock. As the two entered they pointed their weapons at the manager and at the unknown customers who were standing near the register.

The manager told police that in addition to recognizing their voices, he could see the female's face inside the hoodie and he recognized the male's tattoos on his neck and left arm. He said he addressed both of the suspects by name.

Security footage reportedly shows that the manager then handed the male an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, and the suspect put the cash into a black plastic bag.

The manager told police that after the male suspect realized that he had been identified, he became irate; yelling that he was going to kill someone while grabbing numerous pastries and cupcakes from a nearby display stand. He said that the two suspects then fled the Exxon and ran east to a Maroon Chevy truck.

The manager said that the female dropped her bag and rifle as she was fleeing. He stated that he ran after the suspects in an attempt to get a license plate number from the truck, which was the same time the male suspect began firing several rounds at the manager. The manager said he returned several rounds and may have possibly shot the female suspect in the thigh.

He told police that the driver of the truck and the male suspect left the female behind and she continued to run south on John Barrow, as if uninjured.

Police say the manager had pushed the silent alarm during the robbery, but later discovered it was not connected. A customer handed the manager the rifle that the female suspect had dropped in the parking lot and he also found the pink bag as well.

Police say that on Jan. 3, two days after the incident, a woman claiming to be the mother of the female suspect came into the Exxon to show the manager pictures of her daughter's gunshot wound. She requested the manager to call police as to keep her daughter from being killed through her ties with the male suspect.

Police learned in the interview that both of the suspects had been posting about the robbery on their social media accounts. In addition, the manager said that the suspects had been bragging about an additional robbery on Baseline and named the driver as well.

If you have any information regarding the incident you are asked to call Little Rock Police.

Woman Awakes to Suspect Standing by Her Bed, Shoots Him Dead

A Houston, Texas, woman who awoke to a suspect standing by her bed on New Year’s Day grabbed a gun and shot him dead.
The incident occurred at Mirabella Apartments.

The Houston Chronicle reports that the woman heard “the sound of broken glass.” When she looked up she saw the suspect standing by her bed. He began to close in on her, so she grabbed her pistol and fired a shot, killing him.

When police arrived the woman told them she had seen the man hanging around the apartment complex, as if he were casing the area.

Police did not charge the woman in the suspect’s death.

Breitbart News reported that an armed grandma home alone on Christmas Eve confronted a would-be intruder, causing him to flee by letting him know he was “going to die.”

Afterward she laughed, saying, “Maybe they break in to get one of my cookie jars, reckon? See if I had cookies in all of them.”

Man shoots cell phone thief during Craigslist sale, police say

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A Craigslist sale turned into a shootout near a Gwinnett County Walmart in the middle of the day and police said one of the robbers was shot.

Police said the incident happened at around 3 p.m. on New Year's Eve along Scenic Highway in Snellville.

“It all started over a Craigslist transaction that I guess went sour,” said Snellville Police Det. Kevin Seay.

Officers showed Channel 2’s Matt Johnson bullet holes still in the car that police say robbers were in when they pulled a gun on the seller and stole his phone.

Detectives are not sure who shot first but say the seller was also armed. He got out of the car and shot Jaylen Holmes three times through the car, according to officers.
    WSB-TV
“The shooter was actually the victim of an armed robbery,” Seay said.

The seller, who works as a security guard, is not facing any charges.

“The victim in this case was an average working-class citizen who wanted to sell a phone and put an ad on Craigslist,” Seay said.

Witnesses told Johnson that they were scared and surprised

“A guy was just chasing somebody through the parking lot and shooting at him in the car,” the witness said.

Police arrested Holmes after he showed up at a hospital with gunshot wounds.

An alleged accomplice, Rayquan Smith, was also arrested and charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Snellville police said it's a reminder why Internet sales should almost always happen at police stations.

“This goes to show it can happen anywhere at anytime, to anybody,” Seay said.
