Default How did these get missed? Bills in House and Senate.

Here's some that have been entered in the past week.

Here's one we can all agree to oppose:
    Regular Session 2017-2018
    House Bill 194

Short Title: An Act amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in firearms and other dangerous articles, prohibiting certain assault weapons.

    Prime Sponsor: Representative GAINEY
Last Action: Referred to JUDICIARY, Jan. 24, 2017 [House]

Memo: Assault Weapons Ban - Former HB 2229
    See: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/...&type=B&bn=194

One that might be helpful or even good:

    Regular Session 2017-2018
    Senate Bill 209

Short Title: An Act amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in firearms and other dangerous articles, further providing for sale or transfer of firearms.

    Prime Sponsor: Senator HUGHES

Last Action: Referred to JUDICIARY, Jan. 26, 2017 [Senate]

Memo: Background Checks for Firearms and 48-hour Checks for Gun Shows
    See: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/...&type=B&bn=209

One that I'm ambivalent about. You decide for yourself.

    Regular Session 2017-2018
    Senate Bill 224

Short Title: An Act amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in firearms and other dangerous articles, further providing for definitions, for licenses, for sale or transfer of firearms, for Pennsylvania State Police, for firearm sales surcharge, for the Firearm Records Check Fund, for licensing of dealers and for administrative regulations.

    Prime Sponsor: Senator BARTOLOTTA

Last Action: Referred to JUDICIARY, Jan. 26, 2017 [Senate]

Memo: Elimination of PA Instant Check System (PICS) & Use of National Instant Check System (NICS)
    See: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/...&type=B&bn=224

Imagine that. A legislator with the balls to propose a way of buying a boatload of guns over a weekend. Who'da thunk!

But require a check on all long guns. I would never support something that takes away or restricts a right. I am shocked that you would.
    Some people just plain suck.

Not exactly, but your comment on it certainly did make it seem like you would or did.

OK. I understand what you are looking at and agree. I was thinking about the anti's cringing at making a weekend's worth acquisitions simpler and the heat that sponsor will probably be getting. As you pointed out, he'll be getting heat from both camps.

I see what they are trying to do with the senate bill 209. Make the democrats happy with universal background checks while allowing a way for people to easily buy guns at a gun show or private sales. However, you should never compromise when it comes to rights so I hope this bill goes nowhere.

Here’s one we should support that will put an end to the PSP handgun registry.

McGarrigle is turning out to be a Philadelphia Democrat. Another disappointment. Too many Rinos in Delco.

Sorry Bang I glanced through and thought you were the op. I now see Brick was. I was actually commenting on his suggestion that it may be helpful or good. I typed an apology yesterday but must not have hit the post button. Again my apologies.
