Re: Philadelphia Zoo, searches or detectors?
I quite five years ago. My reply was to your statement about fear. I know the city well people are accosted almost every day near the zoo. It doesn't get reported because it happens so often, just like in a lot of places in the city. I was born and raised in Philly, South Philly to be exact. I Have seen it all in every area of the city. There is no police protection except in the immediate area around city hall. There is no reason to have an sd gun if you don't carry it where ever the law allows.
On a side note, I don't drive so it would be public transportation for me and my family. That is a whole other world.
On a third not I also respect your opinion, that is why I phrased my reply the way I did. Some people just plain suck.
If you're gonna be dumb ya gotta be tough.

Re: Philadelphia Zoo, searches or detectors?
I remember this one time we got off at the Zoo exit so we could try to figure out where we were going. Saw a nice big empty parking lot where we could pull off and make some plans. There was a cop sitting in the middle of the lot with his parking lights on. As we were waiting for it to be safe to make a left turn, from the left turn only lane, some ass jack came up behind us at a high rate of speed, slammed on the brakes, skidded, then whipped around us to the left into the oncoming lane and sped off.
We made our turn and pulled in beside the cop, asked him if he happened to have seen what just happened not 50 feet in front of him. Nope, didn't see it.
Yeah, I don't have a lot of faith in the "patrols" of the police down there.Rules are written in the stone,

Well, if you're concerned about the safety of you and your family at the zoo, then perhaps you should not go there... cc firearm notwithstanding.

Re: Philadelphia Zoo, searches or detectors?
Let's just stop beating around the bush. I attached a picture of a crime map with statistics. The box I drew contains the zoo and the surrounding area where people normally park to go to the zoo too. All of this stuff happened within the past 6 months...
