Get the Concealed carry app if you have a smart phone. It tells the status of each state with regard to how your possession of a weapon (handgun especially) is impacted according to what permit, license, or etc., that you may have.
It details whether you may/may not carry open/concealed, duty to inform officers, and etc. Having just traveled to MO I think Illinois is going to be your biggest problem.
While the disclaimer says it is not 100% legally binding it is a VERY accurate guide - and it is FREE. I f i recall correctly it has very good user ratings.

Here's a quick guide: http://www.usacarry.com/concealed_ca...city_maps.html
Illinois is a no go. Ohio and Missouri, your fine on your PA permit. You can use fopa to travel through Illinois, but I would plan your trip to spend as little time there as possible and don't make any stops while there.

Thank you for the information on USA CARRY page great information. I guess I will leave my pistol in PA and travel without. I don't need any headaches with traveling thru IL.

You could go south through Kentucky.

IMO, don't let Illinois ruin the rest. Just stop for gas in before you hit there and plan around it.
Last trip I drove across unfriendly states was from PA to VA, and there was no way to completely avoid MD... just follow FOPA rules to the letter, and don't give the offending state any of your money either."A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves." ― Edward R. Murrow

Per Illinois Consolidated Statutes (ILCS) found at http://ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/doc...3000660K40.htm
430 ILCS 66/40(e):
(e) Nothing in this Act shall prohibit a non-resident from transporting a concealed firearm within his or her vehicle in Illinois, if the concealed firearm remains within his or her vehicle and the non-resident:
(1) is not prohibited from owning or possessing afirearm under federal law; (2) is eligible to carry a firearm in public under the laws of his or her state or territory of residence, as evidenced by the possession of a concealed carry license or permit issued by his or her state of residence, if applicable; and (3) is not in possession of a license under this Act.
If the non-resident leaves his or her vehicle unattended, he or she shall store the firearm within a locked vehicle or locked container within the vehicle in accordance with subsection (b) of Section 65 of this Act.

How often do you normally get pulled over? Other than inspections in my work truck, I haven't been stopped since I was around 22 I think. I watch signs and never go more than 5 over the posted speed limit. In other words, if you don't give them a chance to stop you, there is no problem. Obey fopa and traffic laws and sail right through Illinois.

Backing up what Sgt. K posted, here is a link to a Chicago PD 'Special Order' pdf telling them how to enforce 430 ILCS 66/40 and dated to commence 1/1/16.

IANAL but it looks like this is the real deal.
