Default Vortex viper, turrets, and POI?

Question regarding a vortex viper 6-24X50 EBR-2C recticle MOA, on a 20 MOA rail.

I went to zero the rifle and scope, and notice it was 3" low and 3"right. ( prefer to talk inches rather than MOA do to the issue).
I adjusted the turrets to compensate for the far right and low placement.

Wanting to move the POI up and left.

The turrets have an arrow "up-counterclockwise" and "left-clockwise"

I turned both of them in that direction roughly 3 MOA to roughly get me closer to zero.

Upon doing that, it moved my POI 3" lower, and 3" further right.

    What am I missing?

I am having a hard time comprehending what would be different compared to what I have done all my life.

The rifle is an RPR 6.5 latest edition.

I saw what was taking place, and countered for it using my wife's reversed thought process, and as always, having trouble comprehending it.

    Please explain.

    Thanks
    Tol

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Of course the manual says nothing about setting zero. You sure it's not you pulling your shots?

First, I would double check the torque on the rings and mounts. Can you feel the clicks in the turrets? After that, I would aim it at something and see what happens when you turn the turrets. If it really does move backwards or if you can't figure it out, call Vortex.

I have the same scope and it tracks perfectly.

What direction did you turn the turrets?

Is the scope oriented so that the turrets are on the top and the right side? Sounds like you have it so the turrets are on the top and left side.

I moved the verticle turret counterclockwise, and the horizontal clockwise, in an effort to move the recticle close to my POI.

Once I figured everything was backwards from what I knew, it was holding 1 MOA @ 100 yards.

It is the strangest thing I have ever seen. Scope is on correctly, aperture adjustment on left, vert on top, horizontal on right side.

I was breaking in the barrel, so I wasn't too concerned initially, I was at least 10 shots into it , and tried to reconcile what was going on as I cleaned the barrel between every shot for the first 5, then after the next five shots for a total of 10 cleanings in 30 shots.
Now I did forget my bench rest, and used my bi pod instead. I tried to bore site it though the rifle bore, then pear through the recticle to see which way the hairs were moving, but just could not hold it steady enough to reconcile what was going on.

I then made gross adjustments in an effort to resolve it, 6 MOA turns at 100 yards once I hit paper. Feel about 95% confident something is going on.
I did get it broken in, and will try another time to validate 100%.

I tossed the initial hunt and peck target away at the range. It held its zero with factory ammunition, and yes I did pull a few . But everyone here knows when they pull a shot immediately after doing so..

All where 129 grain except lower right which were 120 grain, all hornady.

In other words. Turn the knobs the other way.
