    Default eFile Stamp Question.

My eFile Form 1 SBR was approved on 12/21 and the ATF emailed me a link to get an electronic copy of my"stamped" form. Is that it? Will they ever snail mail me a "hard copy" for with an actual stamp?

The ATF should be required to print out a copy, stamp it and mail it to you.

They should be but they don't. I read before being that they don't give you a original real stamp they are breaking the law by only copying the same stamp and giving it to everyone. But hey they are the ATF who is gonna tell them they can't do that lol.

I was going to say that. A Form 1 or 4 is not legal unless stamped and signed. So to be compliant they should do as I mentioned. That's why I will not efile, paper only for me.

For $200 and an 8month wait...they should at least give you an original copy!

That's the point of the efile, when approved just print, no more waiting. They have it on file should there be an issue.

You also don't need to carry the original with you if you have a form 1 or 4 from the ATF with original stamp, a copy will do.

I'm curious where you heard this - because that is NOT true. In fact, the ATF itself advises people to make photocopies of their Form 1s and Form 4s and carry those with them, keeping the originals locked up someplace safe. A photocopy is not "stamped and signed," yet is still acceptable.
