    Default LTCF Confidentiality

Back in August 2015, a Huntingdon County judge ruled against four people suing the Franklin County sheriff for sending their LTCF notices via postcards.

Then, in May 2016, a Commonwealth Court panel revived the lawsuit (http://www.pennlive.com/news/2016/05...rs_rights.html).

And now, the Pa. Supreme Court will weigh in to determine whether or not the County Sheriff has qualified immunity or not (http://www.pennlive.com/news/2016/12...ear_dispu.html).

Don't forget about everyone in scanner land listening to the 911 Center telling the officer that the driver has a LTCF!

If I kept a pencil and paper handy I could write down the full name and address of the person having their numbers run as well as their serial number and type of firearm is "registered" to them.

It's probably not a violation of anything though since I have to write the info down or go by memory. (rolls eyes)

Or you could just download one of the Scanner Recorder programs and plug your scanner's audio output into the audio input of your PC and have it collect that information for you.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

I think we all know that will never happen. A pencil is easier to operate than electronics.

I also water my garden with a watering can.

Some are. Some aren't. We wouldn't have a scanner if there wasn't anything to listen to.

it's just an inexpensive handheld. No recording.

Maybe this is why I got no renewal notice from Franklin County.

You got no notice because it is their practice to not send them out. The Sheriff (Anthony) as much as admitted it to me and two others in an in-person meeting in his office.
