    Was thinking about a 6.5 Grendel upper not because I think I need it but just because.

    The AK and / or SKS's would do ok if I chose to put a solid optic on either.

    Just once with the M1 Garand, just to say I did it, then back to the 30-30, lot's easier to tote around the woods.

    Got to love the old 30-30 it's still one of my favorite calibers for DEER

    This guy I used to work with used to go out with his 91/30.

    He had many a fudd ask him if it was black powder.

    I haven't hunted deer since the late 80s, but if I were to hunt again after the semi-auto rifle is allowed (once the PGC gets done f__king around with their interpretation and implementation of the new law), I would go old-school with my Remington 81 in 35 Remington (G&A file photo; mine is similar):

    Phased plasma rifle in a 40watt range. I figure by the time the pgc gets around to letting us hunt deer with a msr, they'll be cheap and plentiful.

    If they don't allow semi-auto pistol for deer also I hope they don't allow the semi-auto rifle
