What you using for post Christmas flintlock season
I used my Thompson 54 caliber Renegade for more than 30 years, but I am switching to a 50 caliber this year. I bought a RMC accusprt about 10 years ago before they split off their retail operation. At the time they had the deluxe accusport with removable breach plug, and the rare set trigger. They also came with L+R locks, and a Green Mountain barrel. At the time the only twist rate with the set triggers was 1/28. So it seems to shoot the TC 245 sabots well. I'll be loading 90 or 100 grains of 3F. I'm going out today at noon with my good friend to test things out. I just enlarged the flash hole to 5/64 from 1/16, so I want to see if that makes the ignition quicker. I have a spare 1/16 flash hole bushing to compare. The RMC should be easier to carry, and the roughly the same energy as the 54 caliber ball.

Re: What you using for post Christmas flintlock season
I have the same rifle that's pictured. I won mine in a gun raffle about 3 years ago. I shoot either 240 gr LSWC or 240 gr Hornady XTP's using Harvester Sabots. I use 80 gr of loose Pyrodex RS in the barrel and 4F black in the pan.

I never tried the XTP's in my rifle. I guess I should try them one of these years.

PA longrifle I built from scratch back in the 80's
Douglas barrel, a Belgian import lock from Dixie that I have tuned and sweated over and still worry over and an amazing piece of maple for the stock. Me and that rifle have walked a lot of miles, done many a rendezvous and shot a fair number of deer.

I use to use a TC Renegade 54 cal, 90 grns of 2f with 4f in the pan. Taken a couple with it. Next year I plan on getting back into the late season flintlock, great time of year to be in the woods.

I'll be a using a 50 cal Traditions PA Deer Hunter with a Hornady .490 round ball over 80 grains 2f with 4f in the pan. Hopefully I can fill my last tag in the late season. Early muzzleloader and rifle were already good to me
