Just got an emailed update on "Look at Me, I'm Pat Toomey"

This Rhode island-born typical (of late) Harvard/Yale alum is still hanging his hat on the Sandy Hook incident to justify killing face to face transfer of long guns.

Good thing he is a Juris doctor and not a medical doctor, otherwise this con job would be sawing off arms to cure prostate cancer.

Ok Bang I just went to Toomey's web page. I read his sandyhook post. I emailed him from his page. Basically I called him out again for not living up to his pledge to uphold the constitutions of both Pa and USA. I chastised him on his pandering to democrats and back stabbing of his base. I pointed out how he almost lost to McGinty because of it, where it should have been easy. I took him to task for his never responding to these emails and just sending back pro Toomey propaganda.

Now how about some Poofa help on this everybody? Get him flooded people.

Wow! An example of emotional reaction sure to lead to unintended consequences.

Evaluating mental health involves establishment of expected norms. Expected norms can be based on perceptions that can vary depending on the times and upon what expertise is currently in vogue.

Psychiatry is a specialty of medical practice that is far from an exact science. Complex structures receive simplified (and oft misunderstood) labels so non-medicos have a semblance of a barometer of what's going on. It will be those implication-carrying labels that will follow the patient for life, one of the most damaging of which will contain the words involuntary and anti-social.

Meanwhile, undetected persons will continue to surprise and autopsies of the deranged behaviors will continuously tighten the controls built into the law. Conversely, a portion of persons declared cured will continue to "relapse"...meaning, the evaluation was correct at the time of the declaration.

Law will continue to err on the side of caution to the point of encroaching into constitutional rights, and the constitution itself will continue to be a target of those who see it as an impediment to the socialist model.

I feel for the anguished survivors of the Sandy Hook shootings who human-naturedly want their children's deaths to at least result in something positive. I fear eventually they will come to realize this won't do it.

Under a system like that you would be born mentally deficient. You would need to prove competency later in life. That is a very dark draconian world they want to create. Hard to use the word create. A very beautiful world they wish to destroy. There that's better.

Isn't it already this way? I believe this is why minors cannot enter into contracts, cannot vote, and why they have legal guardians. If they survive and stay out of trouble until age 18 then they have proved competency.
