Default No open carry at Redners Market in Sinking spring Pa

So I was open carrying today as I have been doing for probably going on 3 yrs now in the Redners Market (glock 19 in a safariland 6000 series holster) in Sinking spring Pa this afternoon (I have done this probably 3 or 4 times a week for about 3 yrs) and just as I am walking up to the self checkouts and had scanned an item a man approaches me stating that I cannot open carry in the store and that I need to cover my pistol the next time I come into the store.

I said "who says this?" He stated his name was Kip Bowers and that he was with Loss Prevention, I stated I have been open carrying here for years and nobody has said anything. he says "that's because I haven't seen you" I asked for a store manager and he says that its not up to the manger its corp policy. he further stated that nobody else in the store would say anything to me except loss prevention. I stated that if that's the case Redners will lose my business for life. He also told me that he was supposed to immediately escort me from the store but he would let me buy my groceries, I looked at him and said he wasn't doing me any favors. I had fried chicken that I was already contemplating eating and cat food so I did buy those items. But I am done with Redners unless they change their policy.

I wrote a letter to the president just like was done in 2011 and I noticed the head of loss prevention responded not the president in 2011. This is most disappointing because the Redners Market is the closest grocery store but a few miles further I have Weis Giant and Walmart.

PennsyPlinker spoke with the head of Loss prevention back in 2011 and was told to expect signs in the stores soon, That was over 5 yrs ago, I am thinking they haven't posted signs because of the negative impact it will have. I could be wrong about that. I will call redners corp on Monday, might even go there in person its not far. I would like anybody who desires to do so to send complaints about this to Redners corp, they can be reached here.

    Hello,
I am writing you because I was shopping in your sinking spring pa store today and was approached at the checkout by a man claiming to be with loss prevention Kip Bowers. He stated that the next time I came into your store that I needed to cover up my firearm. I open carry a pistol EVERYWHERE I go. I stated that Redners would lose my business for life if that was the case. I do understand the law and am well aware you can legally ban me from carrying in your store. You need to know that if this is your policy I will not give you ANY of my hard earned money and I will make every effort to make every person I know aware of this policy and you will lose their business also. Walmart, Giant, Weis, Sheetz, Turkey hill, and Wawa do not infringe upon my rights and I will give them my money. I do not support any business that infringes upon my rights. I have bank accounts at Citizens Bank, and PPL Gold credit union and they do not restrict my rights. I used to have accounts at Riverfront Federal credit union until one day They posted signs banning guns in their branches. I closed those accounts since then. I am also a member of the Pennsylvania Firearms owners forum and this issue also occurred on May 21 2011 at your leesport Pa location. A member of our forum spoke with your loss prevention manager Cory Deily on may 23 2011 about this issue. Mr Deily stated that signs would be posted in the near future, well it is December 11 2016 and no signs are present. I think you might be dragging your feet on this and hope you post your signs soon so you get to find out just how many people will be upset by your decision to infringe on our rights as citizens of this great state of Pennsylvania. If I cannot exercise my rights in your store then you will not get my business.

Not quite sure what county it's in, but dig up the LTCF data and find out what percentage of the adult population for that county is licensed. Remind El Presidente how many people he may piss off by infringing on a fundamental civil right.

He caved to the fried chicken his mind was already enjoying. "Never will I ever shop here again... just as soon as I pay for my kitty food and chicken."

LOL... sorry OP but that was way too easy of a target to pass up.
